I gather its 2x int bonus upon level?
and the starting one is just 2x int
or is it like health,
10% int bonus on lvl up?

im sure you guys saw some of those crazy spells that they have, that need you to be apprentice or antioch to get them... crazy

mana is always 2x intellegence

i believe the mana cost for those spells goes down the higher lever you are in that skill.

a healing spell with 25 restoration may take 80 mana to cast, but when you reach 75 restoration, its a lot lower. Not sure of the exact formula though.

thanks!

ok, so heres the next question,
how is health handled when you lvl up?
as i stated earlier, i know that you get 2x endurance at start and 10% at lvls (rounded down i guess? or rounded at .5 up and .4 down?)

Edit:
what i meant to ask is, what happends if you get a +5 to you endurance as you level>
does you base health also go up?

when you level up, your health goes up by a factor of 10% of your endurance.

so if you have 90 health and 40 endurance, when you level up, youll have 94 health.

right then, here i answered my own question

my endurance was 35 and a health of 73 before leveling
after leveving, endurance 40 and health 87..

5x2 = 10+4(10% of 40) = 14
73+14=87

so,when you raise your endurance, your BASE health also gets raised, and then you get the 10% bonus of your now raised endurance.

IIRC there's a bit of a bug with endurance/health... it seems for END < 100 you get 10 + 10% END, but when END > 100 you only get 10% END bonus.

GREAT, I was crying when I saw that and thought I had to reroll, jeebus christ they require alot of mana! I'm lvl 10 and still haven't bought any new spells, they require too much mana! Frost touch 4tw

I have more than enough Magicka to cast a lot of spells (420 magicka) but I don't have the required levels under the needed skills. I have about 20 spells that look so fucking cool, and I can't use them yet...
Dosen't help that I have been suspended from the Mages Guild for most of the game, just found out where I can get the needed flower to get back in.

For the cast cost I think it it depends on which level you're at for the required skill. Novice, Apprentice, Journey etc. It does seem like spells get extremely cheap the higher your skill in that area is. So if you've hit 100 you're looking at 25% of the original cost to cast it. Makes those destruction spells substantially easier to cast.

I'm thinking along the following:

(cast cost) * (required level) / (current level)

420 magica!

i actually made a mistake in my previous post, i forgot, no stat can be higher than 100.
so into of 100 is the most, unless you boost it somehow.
so for a briton mage, the max magicka would be 300
100x 2 + 50 (mage) + 50(briton)

whats the most expensive master spell you have found?
and will 300 be enough to cast it?

Just go to the arcane university and make some spells. You could probably make them as costly as you really wanted too. I've seen upwards of 1500 magika for costs on some stuff I've attempted to make.

Also does higher intelligence do anything other than add to your magika pool? When enchanting armors you can get +10 to a skill(intelligence) for 20 magika points or +24 magika for a simple fortify.

Also if willpower affects recharge running that up really high might be beneficial. Also if you cast something with a 300+ magika cost it's likely a one shot deal on whatever the heck that just hit. Although damage on spells you make can't go over 100. Although you can combine every type of damage into a single spell. And weakness might potentially double it. Not sure how it'll do the math.

Also for mages. Shield 100% for 30s if you've got a high alteration skill comes in really handy. You can take one heck of a beating from most characters and not go down with that thing active. Costs me like 150 to cast with 100 alt skill however.

thanks..
my worry is that 300 mana might not be enough, and i might have to go highelf or apprentice to get that extra 50

Thief makes perfect sense to me also, but thats a plus 20 to stats that i can easily get through leveling (and then theres luck)

the mana is perminent so i dont have to worry about it.

and this:
can you Drop spells?
like i dont need protect after some time, can i drop the spell for my spellbook?

You can drop the damn things. I really wish there was some way to archive them. I've got so many spells it seems like i'm scrolling forever trying to find the one I want. I think I've got 5 just for picking locks. Simplier to just use the very hard one to open any lock I come to. Deleting or removing from the list definately would be helpful.

I'm playing as a high elf but I've tried to avoid things that cost major mana. You could possibly enchant armor etc to fortify mana. If I remember correctly if you do all the rings, amulet, and armors with a fortify magika you're looking at +192 magika. At that point you'd be a monster to anyone you came across. Would probably put me close to 500 mana at lvl 10. As long as you don't have to fight off a group or keep those mana recharging stone things handy you'd likely be dishing out so much dmg you'd be unstoppable.
