ROFL omg thats so funny, i know someone that bought a cpu from circuit city and it was supposed to have a 4400+ but they gave him a 4600+ by mistake so almost the same boat

Another twist in this web of mistakes and hilarious irony: Tiger Direct doesn't support returns on this item.

Yes but then that would be like ordering a 4800+ and getting a FX-62:)

That's what my Hahaha! Was for, you can't return it:)

Lucky bastard.

With me, it would be the opposite. I would order E6400 and I would get a E6300. The devil always speak for me.

If it was me, knowing my luck, I would have received a 6300, if I ordered a 6400. After reading this post I had to make sure that my 6600 was exactly that. I figured I may have gotten your 6400. Phew! It's a 66K.

..if it was me ordering an E6400 ..they would prolly have sent me a 64meg FX5200 PCI videocard ...

yeah ..go figure

Now the question that arises from all of this, who got your E6400 when they were suppose to get the E6600. Im sure that guy is going to be pissed. Im sure thats what happened.

I don't think anything got switched, actually. Mine has a label on the side for E6400. So, they must have mislabeled a batch of E6600s or something.

Meh, I think we need some proof. Copy of order along with pic that reads "E6600 and Orayn".

Otherwise just just some noobie trying to make us all jealous.

Hehe :D

Was this order made on the 8th? If so, I hope they made the same mistake with mine;)

I think they had some kind of unexplained delay, maybe now I know why.

Links don't work in Firefox, but work in IE. I almost made the same post.

Well isnt that a crying shame :D

Actually if he's planning on OC'ing, it might actually be bad for him depending on his mobo

If that's the case, I'll be happy to trade him my 6400. :p

I mean, it's fine. I'm getting a DS3, and it could bring it up to 2.8 or so without much trouble. Also, that was my target speed with an E6400. If anything, it'd yield higher performance with this new one.

Awesome :D

Tell us exactly what was your reaction when you saw E6600 on the box :p

I had the same thing happen with Tiger, kinda, when the Slot A Athlons were out. Ordered a 900, got a 1000 and instead of sending me the fan I needed I got a 2nd processor.... went to ebay fast.

Never ordered anyting from them again, figured they would notice eventually and I would have been charged for the 2nd processor lol.

I missed UPS at home and must go to the hub to pick mine up tonight.

how stupid of tigerdirect... losing out on hundreds or thousands of dollars.. small wonder they have a 2 week wait on 6600s.. they probably shipped a few dozen out as 6400s..

anyway congrats on the $100+ Savings

If I were you.. I'd sell that chip though and pocket the cash before the prices come down again in a month or two

hell if you order another 6400 from TD you might get lucky again
