Seems that SLI is possible on a crossfire motherboard, mentioned in this thread http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1025967 which was found linked in http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=938853

A friend of mine currently has an A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard with an ATI x800xl, and he was wondering if it would be reasonable to (get a x800xl master crossfire card) upgrade to crossfire.

I know that officially one needs an ATI chipset motherboard to use crossfire, or an nvidia chipset SLI motherboard to run SLI. Yet, from searching the forums I see small mentions of running SLI or Crossfire in competitors hardware. Is this do-able?

Running 2 ATI x800xl's in crossfire on an A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard.

rofl crossfire x800xl = WASTE OF MONEY

if i was him, id sell the x800xl, and use tha tmoney + price of crossifre card and get like a 7600gt

and i dont think there is any patch or hack for crossfire on SLI either

Cant be done......Lets just leave it simple like that.
It can be done, you just need to track down the hacked video card drivers and hacked motherboard bios. ;)

No you don't. You do not need a hacked motherboard BIOS. The BIOS has nothing to do with compatibility with ATi or nVidia's dual video card technologies. You only need the hacked driver. At this point there is no hacked driver that supports the 7950GX2's or the 7950GT's.

Though there is a ULi patch that should enable it to work on newer drivers as I understand it.

Id be interested in this as i have 1 1950xtx and would like to get a master card for it. My board is the K8n Neo4 plat sli
