Nice work man. Got a P180 myself and you just gave me a few ideas about how to rewire my P180. :)
 
That's pretty slick - I would never have the determination to do that, because I know that I'd end up wanting to change something around & find out that I no longer had mosfets in the right places!
 
Reminds me of Earm's rig. I wanna know where both of you got those 90 degree power connectors for HDs and roms. I have seen UV wiring connectors, but never seen a kit of those.

Has push-down style right angle connectors for molex and SATA. I'm about to do that myself, except for the initial build. Just need to go grab a soldering iron and a heatgun... BRB!

I like what you've done with the duct tape. Only thing, it works better if you do it from the inside. Also, don't forget the series of holes next to the pci slots, good place to seal. On my p180, i've sealed every hole that i don't want, so i can control the way the airflow goes.

My PCI slots are open so im not going to bother with that part. I did the back duct tape because that piece of AL completely sealed off the top so no air gets through there.
 
I like the wiring of the hardrives, you did an awesome job.

Do you have a lot of experience working with metal? If not, how easy did you think it was?

No not really. It was easy make sure u have ear plugs and eye protection thought. it was really f*cking loud. just take you time it was easy.
 
What tools did you use? just a dremel? I was going to custom make a side panel for my case, so thats why I have such silly questions, lol.
 
i used a dremel and a hack-saw to get a rough cut. then i have a bench grinder that i used to make the edges more smooth. then good old fashion sand paper to finish i up and give it a brushed look.

That sheet of AL and the duct tape lowered hdd temps by almost 10*C. Concentrated all the airflow to the psu to come from the front of the case.
