dunno yet, I was in the middle of an OS reinstall when I saw this at Rage3d.
 
8.52 refers to the driver version. driver version with 8.6 and hotfix is 8.5.

just finishing lunch, only had time to uninstall old ones, install these and run one gpu bench in crysis.

no difference there. will check other games later. bummer, i was hoping these would really highlight xfire. hoping for official drivers to take care of it.
 
That's too bad, i would like to see some new drivers take advantage and maybe open up some new features on the 4850s. Maybe fix the heat problem a little too. Any date on the "officials"?
 
I installed them on XP SP3 today after a clean install, havent gamed yet. They are running fine so far. Will test tonight.
 
I agree they run fine, no bsod, but.... just tried Vantage, there is an intense amount of artifacting now, wasn't with hotfix. i may try them yet with quake wars, since xfire isn't working for me there either but i may just go back to the hotfix.
 
well quake wars is better, but no xfire miracle. :( i realize i'm being impatient for a "value" solution, but come on.... i want xfire to work because ati advertises it will.
