TF2 - Next class update, Soldier?

What possible updates does everyone think there could be?

Engineer: Maybe be able to build stuff quicker, but cost more to do it?
Soldier: Maybe have a launcher that can hold more than 4 rockets, but unable to crit? Or rockets that shoot twice as fast but do 25% less damage or something?
Demoman: They're already quite ridiculous if you know how to play them, don't have a clue of what they could change.

Oh, and I cannot mention TF2 without saying this: Fuck Pyros.
 
I'd definitely want more rockets for Soldier class, that is all I ask for. That is all a Soldier needs to pwn face really, maybe 50% less crit damage if it comes out or something, with 8 rockets instead of 4.

For demoman: I play this as a secondary, I really can't think of what to change other than maybe some health boost to them or something, cause if you know how to play them they are pretty damn godly. Or maybe they can throw dynamite at someone or place (huge explosion radius)? Lmao, or an ability to "hide" some grenades (like camoflauge) that only you can see but others cant (1 time use, maybe a bit more, who knows?).
 
Heat seeking rockets for the Soldier :). A rifle and bayonet for melee (rifle has no bullets). Actually the server I play has 6 rockets for the soldier and it improves things greatly. Reloading is tedious.

Engineer - flamer turrets. Perhaps a rivet gun to replace the shotgun, nice high pressure bolts flying everywhere. A jump pad to help springboard team mates reach places normally unattainable.

Demoman - hmm tough. I agree that playing as Demo is already godly enough for a good player. Dynamite sticks, C4 & plunger + proximity landmines?

Yeah, make it too easy and no need to aim. I could work if there is a penalty, like it takes 3 seconds to lock on so giving the opposision a chance to escape or fight. Nah, bad idea - this is why I don't work in the creative industry

They'll probably save the Demo update for last... Valve hates the demo... poor cyclops :(

Favorite class too... just cause, if you know how to play the, they are the most devastating. Especially with ubers... Pretty crappy 1 on 1 class though...

Yeah. A good demo or a good spy can easily make or break a game. 1v1 Demo is a bit tricky to use, but just keep with it and you'll eventually learn how to aim a sticky to blow up on their face, or bounce them around with grenades.
 
Owning with demo is easy, but it takes practice. At times into the 25 kills 1 death ratio. Engie already had an update so I don't think we'll see another soon. Soldier is probably next, should be interesting.

I'd say Demo is probably the hardest class to use next to the Spy; unless you're lame and just camp a single halway with stickies.... then it's easy. If you want to be effective and actually help the team out it's a bit tricky.

Being a "pro" Demo in a 24 or 32 person pub and getting a 25:1 KDR isn't much of an accomplishment.

Now, if you were to pull that off in an 8v8 or 6v6 match ...

Maybe before the beta for people who preordered the game. I started playing the day the beta opened and he never had more than 4 rockets. Soldier used to be able to carry more ammo and that was nerfed.
 
I hope it's the soldier. Out of the remaining un-updated classes I think he needs a boost the most. What upgrades he should get, I have no idea but I think at least he should get something where he doesn't have to reload so often (more ammo capacity for the rocket launcher or some sort of faster reload time).

Oh I'm quite capable of 1 on 1... but if a scout/pyro gets a jump on you, you're generally fucked. Especially point-blank.

Soldier never had 4 rockets, Demo had 6 nades though, if you look at the model of the grenade launcher there are 6 tubes not 4, but you only get 4 in the clip.
They did nerf the reserve ammo of both the solder and demo at one point so you have to run back to the dispenser more often.

And the engy update was adding levels to dispensers and teleporters. LVL3 Teleporter is ridiculous. You can funnel a whole team through one in about 10 seconds.

exactly why they would be the last to be updated, they are already a good class.
 
Soldier is fun to play, Better play it more before they fuck it up with some stupid unlock, stick of salami that shoots steel peperoni slices at mach 5 that also crits every time you hit someone in the eyelash
 
Need rocket launcer w/ more ammo!

Also, unlock should somehow enable use of severed heads as weapons. :evilgrin:
 
I wish they just did all of them in one big pack... would be a shitload of balancing, but atleast people would have just stuck to their favorite classes.

Now as soon as it's released you get 6-7 of the same class on one team trying out the unlocks (Or trying to get them). =/

They should tackle the Engie next.
I believe the whole unlock thing wasn't to unbalance/balance gameplay with new weapons but allow alternatives to the main weapons.

Engie received upgradeable teleporters (faster recharge), upgradeable dispensers (faster healing/more metal capacity). Not a major upgrade, but it definitely makes a difference. I'd love to see a level 4 SG with autokill lasers or one that moves or something.

rar i want level 4 sentry for engy upgrade with a random fire spin to check for spys! or a electrical chance to shock and stun a spy who saps it.
 
level 3 teleporter is fine. It helps offense more than defense. Notice that spy also got the buff for ammo pickup. A tele doesn't stay up often unless the opposition does nothing about it.
 
Well in preparation for the possible Soldier update I have been playing as a Soldier, fun class and destructive up close. It's a bit like playing Quake though

Aiming with rockets takes some practice, the 'rocket splash' method is effective especially from an elevated standpoint. Rocket jumping is great fun.

I would say the Soldier is in need of a bit of attention especially in relation to the Demo and Engineer.

I can imagine the servers when the update comes out and everyone is rocket jumping like crazy to achieve the inevitable 'Kill 3 enemies whilst mid air rocket jumping' it's going to be chaos!

Soldier is my favorite class. I'm surprised he doesn't get played more. Easy to learn, hard to master.
