I know P-7811FX, P-7801u and P-7805u FX. Check your chip set, generally and I'm not saying you can tell for sure since some notebooks block CPU at the BIOS level, but check this chart:

The Intel® 4 Series Express Chipsets side. I have the lowest end in the series, the P8400 and the T9900 is the highest end, not including the quads and the extremes. The quads don't work on my notebook (q9000, q9100 and qx9300) , but the extreme(x9100) does.

Throw in 4gbs of memory, this processor, wifi card (or have rjtech do that for you), and a good solid state hard drive (intel or in indilinx controller) and you can have a small, fast system which will get very good battery life. You will not be gaming on it though.

If I am doing my math correctly all said and done it will be about 1200 dollars

Very, very nice, in specs and price. True, the Intel graphics are a letdown, but all the other great specs make up for it (ESPECIALLY the 16:10 resolution, good choice there).

EDIT:

Okay, didn't notice that this thing was completely barebones. Still a nice unit spec-wise, by the resulting price is pretty typical for a machine like this.

not bad if you can upgrade and have a discrete GPU to back it up.

Although I think this fits a very small category of people here.

no can do. t9900 has a tdp of 35w. that notebook is only good for 25w. plus, it's kind of ugly. $1200 puts it in vaio range (many which are coming with discrete graphics these days). i don't know what's up with msi, but when dell's start looking better than your laptop, it's time to start firing some people.
 
wow nice little upgrade.

Too bad/thank God I can't put this in my ASUS F8Sn which uses the 965m chipset (although....the upgrade from my current 2.5ghz T9300 to this wouldn't have been earth shattering anyway...)
 
w00t, CPU arrived! Nice little package, they send everything but a screw driver. That's OK, it will keep me from installing it until I get home where I have some AS5 waiting.

Nice. To bad I already got a P8600 already. That was a big improvement over the T4200 Dell put in there.
 
Dam, almost. Tax and shipping put me close to $400. Will wait... Still a good deal though.
