I know there are a ton of post about this already but they're scattered all over different threads. I just wanted to consolidate them to make this much more helpful.

I'm currently @ 2.3Ghz: 10x230, 1.550V +8.5% CPUZ reporting 1.552V. Mem timings 2.5-3-3-7 1:1. 2.8V. Idle temps are 38C idle and 50C load using a TT 112 Tower. I can get to 2.4 and run 3D mark 05' to get record results but it freezes my comp in a few minutes. I'm going to try a lapping kit and see what happens...

3000+ @ 1494mhz, since the Gigabyte board that AMD recommends doesn't work with DDR-400 memory. Maybe someday this system will be an upgrade from what I had before, but not any time soon :p

9 x 267 for 2.4 ghz @ 1.55 volts stock cooling, I'll try for more when I get a xp 120 or something.

That's so much better than the A64 2800+

A64 3000+@ 2.6 ghz(9*289) at 1.5v-Thermalright XP90
Asus A8V Bios 1009.003
Corsair 3200LL BH5@DDR 433, 2-3-2-5 1t

This chip can do higher but I'm having some BIOS issues with this new chip. I have a thread started in the AMD Mobo section

10x235 for 2.36ghz right now with my 3200. Epox 9NDA3+, 1 stick Corsair XMS. Cooled by Thermaltake SilentBoost. 2.4 wasn't stable, I want to try putting voltage up a little.

Is it better to run RAM 1:1 with looser latencies, or keep the RAM around 200mhz, but with better latencies?

Edit: Doom 3 stable at 2.4 now with 1.55 volts.

please include temps :) and I'm seeing that the A8V is owning the 90nm OCing, I can't get near 2.5 and I thought my temps were pretty cool. 38-46c
Yourself, that OC is sick. You berly loosened your RAM timings and your Vcore is really really low. I Max out my Vcore and loosen my timings to 2.3-3-4-7, and I have nicer RAM and my best OC is 2.3
Punch, don't worry about how high the RAM MHz get, XMS can handle it. But I'd like to know more about Yourself's OC, are you running 1:1, what RAM voltavge are you @?

Im having a big problem OCing mine, I cannot get it to OC at all! It just locks up in windows or doesnt post. Im probably doing soemthing wrong. Can anyone contact me through aim and help me out a ltitle bit please? :)

My AIM name is HockeyZlife 85 The one thing I dont understand is the ram timings, there are too many of them. I am used to my NF7-S with just the ones I really need.

note that he says it's running at ddr433 (216mhz), but yeah, that cpu oc is quite nice.. i'm sure he could do 2.7 without much of a problem

how do you stop you RAM from going 1:1 with your CPU FSB, on my board there is just an option to lock it at 200 but no higher... what if I wanted to lock it at 250? is there no way to do this on my board, there don't seem to be and option

it's not locked.. those are mislabled ratios
200mhz = 1:1
166mhz = 5:6
133mhz = 2:3
100mhz = 1:2

so if you do an htt of 250 mhz when at "166mhz" and the cpu multi is 10x the resulting ram speed will be 208mhz. you see?

Ther performance inpact of running ram async is negligable

Ive got my 3200, only hit 3.2 stable with stock cooling, though the xp90 and a non-crap powersupply is here tomoreow. Ill post final results later

At least you can run at stock speeds... :(

Unless I find a way to force this crappy Gigabyte to run the ram at 166, I can't get stable in dual channel, and I can't decide if DC 166 is better than SC200...

And even then SC200 isn't super stable. Damn gigabyte "not supporting" DDR400...

That's a very poor results for BH-5.. what vdimm are you running?

Latest Stable... for now... 2.4Ghz 1.6Vcore(CPU-Z) Timings: 2.5-4-3-7 1:1 @ 2.85VDimm
makes 3D 05' go up by 100Pts at Stock Vid Card Clocks ~5800- 5900

update, bumped it up to 270x9, still stock cooling, still 1.55 volts. I'm fairly satisfied, but 200 more mhz and I'd be completely satisfied... atleast til dual core comes around. 290 x 9 is my long term goal.

Heh myst1k, I'm also from san jose :), I have you beat though
AMD Athlon64 3000+ 90nm @ 2.43GHz (270x9) 1.62V

with MSI Neo2 Platinum

283*9 " 1.5V.

I'm using a Thermaltake Silent Boost K8 right now (it is absolute shit, the fan stops spinning randomly) but before my little brother stole my xp'90 temps topped out at 55C after 18 hours of prime.

Ram is running 1:1 at 2.5,3,3,10

Same board, my Winchester 3000+ will only go to about 2100 MHz. At max volts.

2.8v....This BH5 doesn't start to shine until I give it 3.0v or more. I'd hardly categorize it as "very poor". :)

This is their whole NF3 design. Corsair's been arguing with them about it for a LONG time now, it's an 'avoid' on their list, and a 17page sticky in their forum... I personally have the GA-K8NS Ultra-939. I'm RMAing an AV8 to get a board that works.

They (gigabyte) officially only support Kingston and Crucial ram, and DDR333 Dual Channel. DDR400 is only supported in single channel, preferably single DIMM.

i have 3 3200+ 90nm and i have tested 2 of them but only with superpi4M and with msi neo2 platinum 54G

no1:vcore 1,4V 2300Mhz 4M superpi through,2350Mhz error
vcore 1,6V 2470Mhz 4M superpi through,2500Mhz error

no2.vcore 1,4V 2350Mhz 4M superpi through,2400Mhz error
vcore 1,6V 2550Mhz 4,8M superpi through

more tests to come with pifast and prime95 after the best one has been selected.....

I can do 2.6, too... 1.95vcore :D

:eek: How hot does that run at???

Oh yeah I'm not an agressive overclocker but I've had it up to:
2.3Ghz
230FSB
4x HT
It's auto'ed @ 1.4vcore

specs are in my sig
