I've got a guy at another forum trying to figure out if his motherboard or PSU is borked. I know there was a pic on here somewhere for a regular ATX power supply, but considering how Dell changes the pins on their PSU's, I'm not sure what pins you'd connect.

Dell Pinout IIRC

1 +5V Red
2 GND Black
3 +5V Red
4 GND Black
5 Power_Good Orange
6 +5VSB (standby) Purple
7 +12V Yellow
8 -12V Blue
9 GND Black
10 GND Black

Gray /PS_On 11
Black GND 12
Black GND 13
Black GND 14
White -5V 15
Red +5V 16
Red +5V 17
Red +5V 18
KEY (blank) -
Red +5V 20

PS_ON must be grounded in order to power.

Thank you, sir.

Unless you have a very early P4 dell or a P3 dell, your PSU should be standard.

This is one of the many annoying things about Dell they have mixed and matched. The only Dell models I am fairly certain use standard ATX PSU's are Dimension 4300, 4400, 4700, 8200, 8300, PowerEdge 400SC, and OptiPlex GX 400. There maybe more but these are the only ones i have seen listed as being standard ATX. In the case of a proprietary PSU the pinout should be what I listed above.

Edit: seems the Dimension 4600 is also standard.

green (gray) to black. But it looks like you already figured that out :)
