Logitech G5 with Icepad

I just purchased a Logitech G5 mouse and an Icepad V2. The mouse will work on wood, cloth, etc. but will not work on the Icepad! The laser has no contact whatsoever when it's on the Icepad. Is this a setting or a known compatibility problem?

Icepad is glass, isn't it? I haven't really heard issues about it but usually light glass wouldn't work very well. You could paint the bottom of the icepad black to make it reflect better.

Okay after doing some researching, the infra red laser in the G5 will not reflect off dark surfaces.
 
I thought so. You may want to return the mousepad for another kind.

Unfortunately I got it off eBay so I don't think the guy will accept a return. I guess i'll put it up for sale on here.
 
there is a firmware update for the G5 that might help you. I have the exactmat and it would work on on speed but not control... now after the firmwear update it works on both.

so it may work for you??
