733 Added an e6300 that I got off of Russnuck last night. This should push me up over 4k ppd!

Don't let this die. Borg for the Horde!
Borged our Tech's computer in my office.

Also folding under [H]ardApe for now.

Borged another work computer with 2 clients.
I can't speak for everyone else here, but I've never experienced a "hiccup" while folding, even when at 100%, or when using the SMP client, or when using the most recent graphical client. I recognize you're not willing to risk a bad experience, but your chances of actually messing up are pretty remote.
Yeah Everytime I run the GUI or the Console version at 100% on idle I've noticed a noticable lag on my computer after a few days (when leaving the computer on 24/7). It gets pretty bad, whereby my solution is just killing the client.
Meh, I am not interested so much in PPD or any of that jazz. Its part of the reason I setup the clients to not accept deadline driven units. All I care about is folding computers so that scientist can find a cure. If it takes a week to fold a WU then so be it.
"Deadline driven" work units are all there are. Timeless units are no more. If you set any clients to get these, they're probably not getting any work.
And I think you're looking at it all wrong. Getting the units done and back to Stanford as quickly as possible is the most helpful to science, not just point whores. We can't move on to the next batch until the current batch is all complete.
That's really interesting that you get bad lag on those machines. I personally have a hard time understanding how FAH could be causing such lag, since I've never experienced it on the dozen+ computers I've touched. Are you sure nothing else is causing that lag? Firefox 2.0.x running, perhaps?Yeah Everytime I run the GUI or the Console version at 100% on idle I've noticed a noticable lag on my computer after a few days (when leaving the computer on 24/7).
