Why/how isn't this stuff illegal?
And how is that different from Unions (which are considered people too)
Hope and change, eh? This does suck but, what are you going to do with the low information voters that allow this stuff to continue.
8 years is not much time for hope and change. I'll take the conclusion of America's longest running war, the recovery of america's biggest recession, and the catch-up to 1st world healthcare as enough change for a career. Especially considering what you're up against (holding economy hostage, gov't shutdown threats, etc).
Guess we should all ignore the record number of people no longer in the work force, the slowest economic recovery this country has ever seen, or that more US military personel have died in Afghanistan under this administration then under the previous one.
As for health care, it's worse for most people. More people have actually LOST thier health insurance than have recieved new insurance under the ACA. While they promised a $2500 drop in insurance cost, the average insurace cost has risen by $2500. My insurance has increased several times faster the past 2 years then it did in the years before, plus my deductable has increased significantly at the same time. I can no longer afford to go to the doctor due to the high deductables, even though I have insurance. So much for affordability.
Wtf are you talking about? Health care premiums rose at the lowest rate in a decade for 2013
Corporations are people.
That court decision was ugly but ultimately the correct one.
They do have right to freedom of speech just like us all people...

"Correct" just how exactly? Because there has yet to be a 28th Amendment stating that:
"Corporations are corporations, and people are human beings...and corporations are not people"
???
It's correct in the assumptions that the businesses in general do have the freedom of speech. I don't like the situation regarding money but it's their "speech" and I support their freedom to speech as they see fit regarding our government. Corporations have right to be critical of our government.
This is my position on this.
At least they can't vote.
And as for the "Corporate are People", that is overblown...

They should be allowed to vote too. They should get multiple votes.
That's only true if you are comparing different plans.
It's like saying car prices haven't gone up much, you can still buy a smart car for the same price a lexus cost 10 years ago......
I'm paying more, for a much worse plan. If my company were to offer the same coverage they offered 2 years ago, the price increase would be over 50%. That's more than the price increases over the 5 previous years I worked here.
That court decision was ugly but ultimately the correct one.

Of course the real problem is transparency though, or the complete lack of it. Imagine how toxic GM or Comcast dollars would be if every single voter could see which politicians got them? This whole situation could go away with a hard campaign funding cap and a ban on anonymous donations.
Let me quote Justice Stevens:
"A democracy cannot function effectively when its constituent members believe laws are being bought and sold."
-Dissenting opinion, Citizens United
Justice Stevens is just a dirty communist liberal who doesn't understand that free market capitalism = Freedom.
Corporations are people my friend!
