True for the most part but mostly in and around big city metropolitan area in the US. I live in Northern VA and I have Fios with 35/35 and I got a Sonicwall TZ 210. VA, NJ and NY have the fastest overall internet in the county.

Not really worry so much about speed, it's the latency. IT doesn't need any where close to 10mbps, but I will be getting the one rated for 500mbps. Why? BC it will do around 80mbps in the real world environment. 500mbps you will never reach those speeds, maybe in the LAB.

I think I decided to go for ooma. I just hope they don't go out of business or close down any time soon. I will need to port my number over. Callcentric seems to be pricey for my taste.

Ooma's hardware cost $200 and you can't use any other, not even VoIP phone. But I found a voip provider call Phone Power. Their support is in the use and according to some reviews they have good voice quality. Does anyone use Phone Power?
