I sort of have a similar thing happen with my Samsung 120hz monitor but it only lasts like 1-2 second than it goes back to normal and like you it happens when coming out of sleep mode. I think it also happens when I ctrl + alt + delete in windows 7, again it only lasts like a second than it goes...
Whew that is a relief, I am looking at buying one of these in a couple of days to replace my CRT. The most recent LCD I purchased about a year ago has horrible light bleed and has been relegated to just being a spare screen next to my CRT. I really hope this one is much better.
So WildMonkey according to you 7 years ago the lcd monitors that were out then are comparable to the ones today in terms of gaming and responsiveness? I mean they all run at 60hz and therefore there is no difference between them....
120hz is not only helpful in having smoother game play but...
Nice, thank you for the full review from digitalversus.
I just read the short review they did and they say it is the most responsive monitor they have ever tested, beating out the vx2268 which is really great. I too was worried when I saw the the VS Crt thing but I am now relieved after...
I think there is a workaround for ATI cards where you have to change the clock speeds at idle. During gaming there shouldn't be an issue using 120hz. I was hoping ATI would have resolved this already though:(
The Dell's back light looks really good especially considering the pic at 100 brightness. The Samsung looks about average and I doubt exchanging it will help, I have seen much worse.
Why does the delay compared to crt hit 50ms... that is atrocious yet it also has a min of 0.. I was kinda hoping for it to be almost zero. Still using the gaming comparison it looks pretty good so who knows.
I will certainly look at buying one if the price is right.
If you read the original post you would see that he does Photoshop and a lot of gaming.
There are no LCD's currently that are up to par with CRT's in terms of responsiveness and also have the ability to reproduce accurate color. There are some LCD's that are tolerable for gaming(120hz...
I'm in the same boat, actually I did buy an lcd about a year ago but ended up still using my crt. I am waiting for some more 120hz models to come out. Even with the "2 ms" LCD I had, mouse movement didn't feel quite as smooth as on my crt.
