I was wondering if any of you had this issue with the Intel 4600 (4770K) driver whereby it makes core 1 spike to 100%. When I login to windows, I have no mouse and the keyboard lags. Sometimes the sound is garbled.
I broke out my trusty 9800 GT, installed the drivers and disabled the Intel...
I am not talking about the need to push performance, rather the necessity to keep your company afloat. DRAM isn't a very profitable market right now, so one would argue that your process technology is key.
Yet it seems like it has not kept up with the logic process shrinks and I am wondering...
You'd think that with DRAM it'd be more of a necessity.
In February, Elpida filed for bankruptcy (and has ~$5 billion debt). Hynix and Micron both posted a net loss this past quarter.
I have a question that i have been thinking about (hope this is in the right section)
What is harder to make? DRAM, NAND or logic (i.e CPUs, etc)
The ITRS uses DRAM half pitch for its projections, but if you look at 2012, it calls for a half pitch of 32nm.
Intel has been using the 32nm...
I would say if you can get the cheap 9550 or 8400 go for it. There comes a point where your new CPU cost just as much as an a new i7.
If you go for the quad, it should last you a while (beyond 2011). I have a Q6600 what was from what, 2007 (got it in 2008). Point is it's still pretty fast and...
my setup is kind of ghetto (it's at home and our budget was pretty much the equipment)
we pretty much project the image onto the wall. The projector is in the back of the room and we ran a sleeved wire for the front and center speakers down the middle. They have PCI-E connectors so that they...
you will be fine. I have PowerDVD 7 Ultra installed on my windows 7 x64 box and it works fine. It changes the color theme to vista basic when you start playing the bluray/hd-dvd, but it goes back to aero when you're done.
I think they're talking about sandybridge which is due out Q4 2010 (after Westmere)

I've used vista since beta 2 and while it's come a long way (although i stopped using it in Jan), I'm in love with windows 7.
I haven't tried much of the library or networking features and I don't use windows media player (i'm pretty much all VLC or iTunes). Having said that...
Sometimes vista...
you don't have to use RE3s for the raid 1. There are some tweaks in the RE3 that make it good for raid.
I have 2 RE3 in RAID 0 and a black in non raid 0 and it runs pretty well.
And i think the RE3 and blacks are the same drive. The lower capacity RE3s have the same dual processor design, but...
when you booted, did you set the primary boot device to CD-ROm or did you do the F-12 thing where you can select the boot device.
I've noticed that sometimes if you don't set the boot device to cd-rom, the setup kind of freaks out
