Ati 5770 at 2560x1600 with World of Warcraft

That's why I qualified my statements with several "last time I checked's. I'll retest tonight and hopefully see the same results (However small an improvement).

Ati 5770 at 2560x1600 with World of Warcraft

DoubleParadoxx: Your second card will idle while WoW is running. Blizzard's tech knowledge base acknowledges this, and last I read they stated they had no intention of supporting it officially. Having Crossfire on doesn't hurt WoW, but it won't utilize it either. I saw some mention that people...

Ati 5770 at 2560x1600 with World of Warcraft

This isn't a direct answer, because I don't have a 5770 or run 2560x1600. But my HD4870 (1gig)'s with max detail except for shadows @ 1920x1200 has occasional frame rate issues in raid settings. I'm running maxed AA/AF. I'm talking 15-25fps. So depending on how the HD4870 and HD5770...

Getting ATI to support Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling

I forgot to ever come back and reply here. Yes, the current Catalysts (8.3 I think and up) do have the "Maintain Aspect Ratio" option now. I was very happy when I randomly updated Catalyst and saw the option had finally been added, after years of dealing with stretched 4:3 resolutions in...

ATi fixed pixel aspect ratio issues with widescreen

True. But the fact is, some (Not even a few or "rare") LCDs simply don't have these options or don't expose them to the user. In that case, it would be nice if we could fall back on the driver to handle it. Drawing black bars may suck some performance out, but for those people with monitors...

ATi fixed pixel aspect ratio issues with widescreen

It CAN do it. The video card can maintian the aspect ratio for monitors that either lack the option or for some reason hide it in certain modes. nVidia drivers do it. ATI's Catalyst Mobility drivers do it. Regular Catalyst? Nope. ATI Support told me that drawing black bars was pointless...

ATi fixed pixel aspect ratio issues with widescreen

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue :( I have a VX2025WM as well. When I originally purchased it, I had a BFGTech 6800 OC. At first everything was fine, I went into the drivers after I first noticed stretching and changed it to maintain the aspects. Then I upgraded to a 84.xx driver...
