Windows Server 2012 on ESXi keep losing network connection

I've been experiencing a similar problem with 2012 R2 on 5.1. Initially trying VMXNET3, then E1000e adapters both with about 4-8% packet loss. What was baffling to me was that my domain controller, also 2012 R2, didn't seem to have this problem. I deployed the DC probably a month before the...

    ITX Gaming/HTPC Heat Issues

Just a quick update, I haven't cut into the back of the media cabinet yet, but I did replace the stock cooler with and AXP-100 and I'm super happy. That alone has dropped my CPU temps at load by about 12-15 degrees and it now idles right around 35C. I am still planning on opening up the...

    ITX Gaming/HTPC Heat Issues

This looks interesting, I wish they had some more measurements on the drawings. I have a Intel DH77DF and I wonder if there's clearance between the heat pipes and the graphics card.

    ITX Gaming/HTPC Heat Issues

That's about what I was thinking too. The console is an old Ikea thing that the wife loathes, so I'm sure it isn't long for this world and she won't mind me cutting a hole in the back. As far as the CPU coolers go, would you go with a tower cooler blowing on the graphics card or the top down...

    ITX Gaming/HTPC Heat Issues

I recentely put together a new build in a Node 304 case. So far I'm very happy with it, except the CPU temps seem a bit high. I'm not overclocking and am using the stock cooler, but they still seem to idle around 40C and were maxing in the upper 80s while playing Bioshock Infinite. The GPU...

    M3A2 Beta Project: Discontinued

Even though I just bought a Fractal Design Node 304, THIS is the case I've been looking for. Can't wait to see how things progress. Great work!

Bang for Your Buck HTPC/Gaming PC

Cool, thanks a lot for the help Danny, I appreciate it. This is my first 'proper' gaming PC since my old E6600 and 8800GT, so I'm pretty jacked!

Bang for Your Buck HTPC/Gaming PC

I ended up getting a bit more money together and going with Intel DH77DF. I actually plan on using either the CEC or IR headers and the Intel NIC make it worth the cost for me. I also ordered the i5-3470. Is the Patriot memory linked above still recommended, or is there something better...

    Quiet PSU with 140mm Depth

I just got a Fractal Design Node 304 and am looking at getting a new PSU to go into this build. While it does take a regular ATX PSU, to have a long video card in there, their literature says that it needs to be under 160mm in depth. So I'm looking for a quiet, efficient PSU to fit in there...

[Hot] PowerColor HD 7870 MYST. Ed. 2GB + Bioshock & Tombraider - $209 (no rebate!)

I appreciate the offer, but I didn't really need it. I had the thing in my cart all day trying to figure out a way to explain its necessity to my wife. It going out of stock is just the cosmos way of preventing another 'you spent how much on computer stuff' discussion!

Fractal Design Node 304 itx case

What PSUs are people using in this case with a longer video card? Mine should be here this week and, ideally, I'd like to migrate into a modular PSU to keep this thing clean. I'm planning on putting either a 7870 Tahiti or a 660ti into it and don't want to run into clearance issues.
