Yeah, I can't find the same deal through amazon that I found before. You could try calling 6ave through their website and see if the sales reps remember the sale, they might be able to match you the price. They've seemed very helpful every time I've dealt with them.
Onkyo 605 or new 606.
Best place to buy, Amazon. I doubt you need the extra features of the 606 and the 605 can be found as low as 275 shipped on some days.
I had a friend pick up the Zalman HD160XT for me when it was on clearance at Fry's for 200. I plan to use the touchscreen to start music playback without having to power up the plasma. I would have never bought it at the 600+ MSRP but for 200, why not?
About your issue, I can't help you. I'm...
Nvidia 8200 because of 7.1 LCPM through HDMI. It just came out so I'm waiting for the drivers to get fixed because a lot of people are having problems getting all the advertised features to work. In a month or so the G45 will be coming out and that too supports 7.1 LCPM through HDMI.
The 8200...
I was able to get a great deal on all my components by looking in the hot deals thread and checking craigslist. I got an Onkyo 605 for 275 shipped through Amazon and R50s for 60 each through Fry's. I also got a pair of RTi100s and a CS2 almost brand new on craigslist (MSRP of $1400~) for 350...
http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/stf-1.html <- I'd highly recommend this subwoofer. For the price it's leagues better than anything you can get from another company for under 500-600. Might be worth the extra shipping charges.
I'd drop the polk sub. Polks make phenomenal speakers but their subs leave a lot to be desired. I'd check out a company called HSU. They make great subwoofers at terrific prices.
You might want to get a CS1 instead of a CS2. I own a CS2 and it's bigger than the Monitor 30s. The onkyo is a...
I'd go with the SR605. It's much better than the 505 and can be found for great prices. I got mine for 275 shipped from amazon. It supports HDMI 1.3a and pretty much everything else you can throw at it. Personally I have a 605 hooked up to this set up:
Center - Polk CS2
Fronts - Polk RTi100...
I recently picked up an Onkyo 605 for 275 shipped through 6ave. I'm using it to drive a pair of Polk RTi100s, a CS2 and a pair of R50s for a surround system. I got all the speakers for around $450 through craigslist, ebay and browsing the web for the best prices. If you are patient and don't...
Frys had the Zalman case with a built in 7inch touch screen on clearance for 199. You might want to check your local store and see if they have any left.
I ended up finding a great deal through craigslist for a pair of RTi100's and a CS2. I'm now going to be using these for my front/sub (RTi100s have built in subs in the base) and moving the R50s to the rear.
