    Halk's Worklog

Thought I'd best say this project isn't dead. I'm still waiting on the AquaComputrer order - they haven't even bothered to email or phone to explain why it's delayed. Having said that it really isn't the case that I've been patiently waiting. I did have one weekend set aside for the...

IceDragon -Need Help picking water cooling parts....

If you're still wanting to go AquaComputer then for the Cuplex XT they make a replacement copper top to replace the plexiglass. As for the best money can buy? Well, ThermoChill PA120.3 is the best radiator around. The "best" pump is the DDC ultra, with a modded top. Some are plexiglass...

The WC Thread: You got questions, we got answers!

Using Marci's figures from ThermoChill.... A PA120.1 will do the FX57. The TDP of the processor is roughly 100W. Overclocked you won't exceeed 150W, at the absolute worst, and realistically you're just not going to come near that. According to his graphs a single Panaflo FBA12G12-H1A will...

    Halk's Worklog

Well, a great deal of the cost is not related to watercooling. And for the watercooling I'm replacing about 2/3 of what I have, so the high price is unavoidable. It _should_ be worth it I think, when I get it finished. It really will be silent, and by silent I don't mean quiet, I mean really...

Cherry Wood case with Water cooling

I'd love to make my own wood case. There's plenty of reasons to justify it. For a start it's going to dampen vibration more than any other material. It's also going to be exactly the right size and dimensions for everything, because it's custom made. If I spent enough time working out exactly...

You could take it out for a walk! Other people have pet dogs, you have a pet AquaComputer!

    The impact of tubing sizes

45 degree fittings are in the post :) Surprised they didn't arrive yesterday along with the rest of the stuff. Aquacomputer are still "processing" my order placed on monday night. :/ When the AquaComputer order arrives I can swap out the AquaStream contoller for the newer one that...

    The impact of tubing sizes

Is there any rough guestimation maths we can use to work out flow rates? I suspect mine right now are quite low - Aquastream at stock, 6 blocks, lots of 90 degree bends. Moving to 6 blocks, less 90 degree bends, and will be putting the AquaStream up to 70hz, so I'm hoping that keeps the flow...

    Aqua Computer or Dtek

I'm not really sure what you mean. If you're meaning that some parts of a watercooling loop are warmer than others then yes, that is true. But only by fractions of a degree. Since the water is cyclying through repeatedly the temperature of the water doesn't vary much in the loop.

    Which Watercooling?

I'd watch with a HDD cooler. From my experience they don't produce a huge amount of heat, not enough to warrant watercooling. A very slow fan can do all that's needed. As for the kit - it seems pretty decent to me. All I'd do is go to a watercooling specalist shop and price up the individual...

    Aqua Computer or Dtek

Well.... Nobody is going to dispute that everybody had always agreed that larger pumps, and or larger tubes had diminishing gains. I think since there wasn't any real evidence around - none that I've seen - then people would have had to make their own conclusions as to at which point it...

    Which Watercooling?

Hmm. I'd disagree there. That's the top end stuff, not bang for buck. Bang for buck is an AMD X2 5000+ not an Intel QX6800. It's not to the same degree with watercooling, not as huge price differences. But the Thermochill radiators (as I understand it) are the more expensive ones in the...

    Which Watercooling?

Ultimately it'll be you that decides the best option. I don't believe there's any real difference in price between a 120.2 and a 120.3 radiator (by the time you get all the components together) so that's going to be down to your own choice. As for the blocks and so on - I use AquaComputer...

    Which Watercooling?

Generally the advice is to steer away from kits, and pick parts separately. Are you looking for the best performing watercooling - regardless of the cost? Are you looking for something that does the job, don't care how it looks, and you don't want to overclock? Are you looking for the best...

IceDragon -Need Help picking water cooling parts....

Well, I'd suggest in a year or twos time, you're going to want the extra 20%/30%/40% boost that overclocking can give. Although I would say that the difference in overclock is mostly related to the CPU, and the difference between "ok" watercooling and the absolute best is only going to be...
