Wiped out Vista SP1 64
Now, running Windows 7 x64 as my one and only OS.
It already feels like the best OS out there, bar none.
Once added compatibility and even more stability (via the compatibility) come into the picture, this will be even more amazing to use.
You dolt.
You are running a beta OS in a VM and you have the audacity to complain about performance?
Where do you people come from? Cupertino?
On-Topic.
I "unoficially" downloaded the Beta via a direct link from MS's servers, but Microsoft's Windows 7 webpage still lacks...
You should send them your resume, I'm sure there's a market out there for your proposed mouse design, i mean if they'll buy these quasi-keyboards...then you never know.
There are custom configs out there which increase settings beyond what Crytek had set for their Very High config.
This would basically include things such as increasing lighting effects, shadows, foliage depth and distance, view distance LOD, etc.
By the way, just came across an AMAZING...
Are you downloading the enhanced texture pack linked on the 2nd page?
i.e.
This one:

I just finished downloading it, and was curious about performance using this texture pack...guess the best way to find out is try it for myself.
Yep, no other game has fooled friends and family members of mine into thinking that what they are seeing is real, or a film, or some sort of pre-rendered piece of tech.
Crysis set the bar ridiculoulsy high in terms of graphics, and still 14 months later, everything else pales in comparison.
Agreed, and I still wouldn't call them gamepads, but as per the OP, I too would call them "gamepads" instead.
These are gimmicky, and I already have a keyboard with like 120 keys on it, all of which are perfectly working and easily accessible, and about 12 of them are programmable, so why...
Hardly, Ive played both, and Far Cry 2 looks nowhere near as good as Crysis and that is the general concensus across forums the internet over.
Far Cry 2 still has this washed out, brown (and bland) look to it, and doesn't look anywhere near as photo realistic as Crysis does.
Crysis easily destroys anything out there still in the graphics department, nothing even comes close.
In many parts, it's downright ridiculously pretty, virtually photo-realistic to an extent.
Like you, even now, I just play it to stroll along and take in the scenery, and when playing...
Yeah.
Any performance boost in GTA IV for that matter?
If so, I'll give these a shot, and also if anyone would care to test these to see if enabling AO now doesn't impact framerates as much as other drive sets in Crysis.
Crysis has always had this capability, it never necessarily relied upon drivers to deliver this option.
Even via DX9 mode, one could include in a system.cfg file the command:
r_SSAO=1 , to enable Screen-Space Ambient Occlusion.
Furthermore, one could control the quality and range of the...
