It was produced December 2006 in China and yes it did say AMM000 on the outside of the box. If anyone orders one and it says AMM000 on the side of the box, return it.
mutant...send him my pictures...please. You have the evidence right there. IT'S UNDENIABLE. You're talking about a manager from HP. Does he have an incentive to lie to you? (YES, he wants to move his darn HP monitors and get you off the phone OR he's just unaware of where they are sourcing...
Are you kidding me! I made it all up for fun? Is that what you're saying? Wow...that's amazing. What would be the motivation behind that? Let's set the record straight:
I ordered a HP LP2065 from PC Connection and received one with an A-MVA. IT DOES EXIST. I took PICTURES OF IT. How...
NOOOOOO!!!
Incorrect. My A-MVA monitor DID NOT SAY GSM002!!!!
It had an AMM000 revision. I just bought another HP LP2065 and it has a GSM002 and it IS a S-IPS.
did you see my pictures snowdog? It WAS an A-MVA from PC Connection. No I'm not from Dell. I work for a defense contractor.
Btw...I just reordered from BHPhotoVideo and got a S-IPS. However, it has a dead pixel in the corner. I think I'll be able to live with it.
So it looks like the following people have had decent luck with the following vendors:
(correct me if I'm wrong)
Camster - S-IPS - ordered directly from HP
ScYcS - S-IPS - newegg??
uluvbs - S-IPS - securemart
Has anyone run their S-IPS LP2065 monitor through any of the following tests?

-Dark Grayscale Test
-Image Tests
-Gradient Linearity Test
Thanks,
To make it short, a large percentage of people have been getting what they want, a S-IPS panel, while a very small percentage of people (me included) have been getting an AUO A-MVA panel. I've also heard PVA thrown in the mix as well, but no official confirmation. I just got off the phone with...
so I get the honor of being the first one to report a MVA panel? ahah
That's a bummer...
here are the (low-res) pictures that I took:

not a rumor...well it's not a PVA...the new HP LP2065 is actually an A-MVA.
read below:

Take a look at the box and check to see if the REV is AMM000 or anything about the firmware being .115. I THINK (not completely sure) that the older .114 revision is IPS.
Let me know what you find. I might try securemart if you're successful. Just ordered an Ergotron Arm from them...
Hey, not a problem. No offense taken. I'm just trying to contribute to the discussion just like everyone else. I read the forum postings and noticed that the HP LP2065 was pretty well regarded and fairly cheap as well. Unfortunately, cheap sometimes = not high quality. A lesson learned for...
Yes, you'll have a bunch of regret (well two times as much regret if you get two of them and they're both A-MVA) if you get an A-MVA like I did!
ahah....thinking about getting the NEC from Circuit City...I'm getting tired of shipping 20lb packages back to Ohio/NY or wherever these bad boys want...
