Could you please explain to me why it is now necessary to create a full image after a defrag when it wasn't necessary 5-6 years ago? Seriously. If it is necessary, I want to understand why.
My old version of Acronis True Image 2009 used to make one full backup and then dozens of incremental backups on my two internal backup drives. My recent hard drive crash necessitated that I "upgrade" to Acronis True Image 2016 because the Acronis 2009 boot disc didn't recognize my hard drives...
Actually, I suspected hard drive failure or RAM failure before I suspected a virus and ran diagnostics on the hard drive and the RAM. When the tests came back clean, I then scanned for viruses. None of the tests exposed the true issue.
Each time I lost information on the hard drive, it was the...
For the past month I've been in computing hell. My hard drive has been erased three times, but I can't find the culprit.
TLDR: It's a long, complicated story, so I'll try to put the most important things in bold red, like this.
Symptoms: Each time the hard drive erased (well, at least two out...
Update: I figured out what the problem was.
The issue reared its ugly head during a week of many changes and one of those changes was an update to ZoneAlarm. Now it won't let Nostromo Loadout load properly. I have to exit out of Zonealarm, start Nostromo Loadout and then restart ZoneAlarm. I...
Hello,
I have Windows 7 64-bit installed. My old Belkin nostromo speedpad n52 has been working correctly for years using this operating system. This morning, however, I woke up to discover that 1) Pinnacle Profiler had stopped working and 2) I could no longer access the loadout manager for the...
Hi Aric, I did a search and this came up. XD
The pin layout for the front panel connector is not labeled. I suspect we only need to hook up a few of the leads: power switch, HDD LED and perhaps reset, but the pins aren't marked on the motherboard or in the operator's manual of the computer...
Hi peeps,
Long time no post. I'm no longer building and repairing PCs for other people, so I don't keep up-to-date on every hardware advance that comes down the pipes. I am, however, still playing PC games and keeping my PC updated (for the most part).
I use the D-Pad on an aging Belkin...
I think everyone's in agreement this is a dual-channel-only board. Even if there's no "yes" under triple channel, it does say "Triple Channel Supported" which is misleading, but hey, it's a Russian site. ;)
Thanks everyone. I'm a tad miffed.
Question: With the second closest RAM slot, the metallic heat spreader on the G.Skill RAM touches the heatsink. Is this a bad thing? I haven't tried booting it up yet. Still working on putting the necessary parts together.
Also, someone told me NOT to use...
