Anyone seen this yet? K7C... Lian Li ...

I've got a black one beside me at present. Nice case, I had the internals powdercoated matt black, and stuck a windowed sidepanel on it. Decent space for hiding cables, adequate drive bays and good cooling our of the box. Champagne sounds like it should be rather nice - will you be able to...

Smoothing output from PWM fan controller

Thanks, I'll have a look at it over the weekend and see if I can work out what it's using. I don't want to build my own for a couple of reasons - this one looks good, and anything I make won't. Plus I'm already stuck with this one :)

Smoothing output from PWM fan controller

Ok, I'm resurrecting this thread rather than starting a new one as it's along the lines of the problem that I'm having. I have just built a new machine with Yate Loon medium speed fans and a Lian Li TR-30 PWM controller. I've already modified the backlighting to change it from blue to green...

    Powdercoating?

You can find one of them on this worklog - http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1074092&page=3 another here - http://legionenterprises.co.nz/modgallery/v/AdminMods/file_server/ just the outer panels were done on that one. If I get time tonight I'll take a couple of the LanCool since I...

    Powdercoating?

Not so,I just had my LanCool (steel Lian Li) chassis powdercoated. The only prep it got was med stripping it down - removing all the outer panels which were left stock, removing all the plastic clips and stainless drive slides. The motherboard and hdd trays unscrew so they were done seperately...

    Sleeper

CPU is currently sitting at 34C with a Celeron 2.8 at stock speeds according to Speedfan. Ambient temp in the room is about 20C. Neither the NB or GPU put out much heat, they could have quite easily been left out of the loop, but I had the blocks there so thought I may as well put them in it...

Would a mATX motherboard work in a mid ATX case?

Yep, everything will line up just fine. You'll have some space left over where there are extra PCI slots etc on the case, but at the other end, they're all the same. ITX, mATX etc are all based on the same design for the basic I/O panel, you just get more extras the bigger you go.

    Sleeper

Righto, where am I up to with this worklog? Oh yes, got radiator, got fans, got pump, got cabling. So this is where things are at 240V power for the pump, and above it is the switch for the lights. Must be time to put some tubing in this thing. 3/8" ID Tygon is answer here. Lots of...

    Sleeper

You're dead right, it is around the wrong way. ATM, it's only in there for fitment of other parts, and I'll make sure it's correct when I do the final assembly :)

    Sleeper

Somewhere along the line I have misplaced some photos - I think they were only of the vinyl dying of the CCFL cables, but I can't be sure. You can see the inverter at the bottom right here, and the dyed cables - which as I suspected might happen, is cracking off - it didn't sink in properly due...

    Sleeper

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. The colour scheme probably would have been yellow and black as those are her favourite colours except for the fact that I already had the Zalman blocks in blue. Another small update for tonight: It's time to give the pump some attention. A little...

    Sleeper

Long overdue for an update here. Life took over, and other more important things stepped in unfortunately. The gf's PC broke down so the Sleeper was rush assembled in order for her to have something to use, and that's the way things stayed for a long time. Recently though I had another machine...

    burnt cold cathode inverter

Does anybody know if the vibelights inverters are compatible with the sunbeam and other CC bulbs? I'm contemplating getting some sent out ($15 international freight) and I don't really want to have to make two orders because I find they won't fit the tubes I've already got.

    UV Reative Adhesive Tape??

I'd suggest staying away from tape. It has a bad habit of turning sticky and peeling in warm environments. How about some spiral wrap instead? Available in blue and green, really easy to install, and those guys are in aussie for cheap shipping :D

    Best thing since sliced bread?

Yep, I can attest to them being handy. I threw one at a Slot 1 system I had laying around. I had a Silent Boost cooler in it, but in order to make it fit, I had to take off both the fan and the metal surround thing. I had an 80mm fan pretty much just sitting on it, and it managed to stay...
