Any opinions on the newly available 32" Panasonic TC-32LZ800? It's a IPS panel and can be had for just over $900 according to pricegrabber: http://electronics.pricegrabber.com/plasma-lcd-televisions/m/67388076/search=TC32LZ800/st=query/ Seems like a hell of a deal. Panasonic Info page...
Is there any way to adjust the backlight brightness when hooked up to a video source (PS3)? It doesn't seem to let you go into the quick adjustments for brightness and contrast (up/down button) when it's not getting a PC (or in my case Mac) signal.
Anyone mess around with any of the settings...
I would see if any of the Best Buys in your area have any left. I just got mine on Friday for ~$515 with tax and am using it with my PS3 and MacBook as well. Some BB's have had it on clearance for much cheaper than mine did which is why I was probably still able to find one new in box. Maybe you...
Sweet deal, When I was at my somewhat local BB Friday (Harrison st San Francisco) and saw they had it on clearance for $470 (1 left in box and 1 on display) I tried to get them to pricematch a lower clearance price but they wouldn't, there weren't any other BB in my area that had them so I...
I posted this a while back but here it is again. I took this picture of the first one I got from newegg. It's not like a normal screen door effect where there is a thin grid around the pixels, it's as if the the grid is thicker than normal, primarily the horizontal part of the grid. Happens in...
I got one today at BB in San Fran. Hooked it up before I left (had to set it up on a chair by the exit) saw the dreaded screen door in the right hand corner. Returned it. Saw they had 1 LG 24" L246WP left (new in box), even though the clearance price was $467.99 and they wouldn't match the much...
Can you post the manufacturing date or code of the good one? I might try to pick one up before the sale is over but having had 2 with SDE in the right corner from newegg I want to maximize my chances of getting a good one. This might help others too. Thx
Both of mine from newegg had the buzzing once you turned the brightness down, I was more annoyed with the grainy upper right corner than the buzzing. I'm half tempted to try another from best buy mainly because of the cheap price plus the fact it's not a TN.

Chinese review (so sorry I incorrectly said it was Japanese branana) that shows it hooked up to a PS3 and shows that it has scaling modes. Damn this was $300 at tigerdirect last month.
here are more pics and info this time in Spanish I think...
I've also been trying to compile info on new 32" 1080p's These are a couple more that I found.
Samsung LN32A550P "The 1080p (1920x1080) resolution 5 series adds touch-sensitive controls on the cabinet, three total HDMI inputs (one on the side), and a side-mounted USB 2.0 port. It includes the...
WOW I wonder if these are going to be TN panels. That would be horrible! And a 24" with a 1680x1050 resolution seems really dumb.
Thanks for the info though!
Pixels are staggered?
This image was posted in this thread on the GP1 which has the same lcd panel i think:
