I personally helped the ups store personnel pack the computer. We wrapped the computer several times with bubble wrap and then jammed the box full of it. Someone literally threw this box from some kind of height, my guess was out of a truck.
For his purposes, the overclocked 2500k is crushing...
I used to work for UPS so this was an embarrassing moment for me.
And we were blown away but the FPS boost from the overclock! Unless hardware fails him, he will keep it for a few years, maybe even more.
Big Update!
So my brother recieved the package from UPS in a different state than what I sent it in.
Needs less to say the case and Hyper212 were destroyed. Started an insurance claim to get the value of the items destroyed back.
In the meantime the rebuild continues.
Swapped over...
When AMD says they plan to support the AM4 socket with future processors that literally means buy a motherboard now and in the future buy a "next gen" processor within the time said and it will work.
What do you not understand about that?
That is how it has always been with AMD.
As fun as it would be to see something like that this year. They will most likely wait to refine the product line(mobo ram support and all that jazz).
Especially with the rumored zen2 having better ipc that will make threadripper 2.0 even better value.
AND if they do have something like say...
So my brother is putting the parts together for a new build and asks me for some suggestions on the parts he has picked.
I am looking it over and recalling a video I just watched on YT comparing 2500k to the current i5 series in gaming.
I show him this video and a light goes off, hey I have...
Sorry if the information was a little vague. So it would mostly me used for her to edit video on and that would be the priority. Gaming would be a nice to have, I currently only play HotS, Overwatch, BF1.
It would be ideal to have the OS and editing software/applications on NVME while my game...
My wife has tasked me with building a video editing rig(she uses Adobe premiere and other Adobe products).
She ideally would like two 4k monitors possibly 27" or bigger.
Lots of storage for video files mostly 4k format size.
And I would ideally be able to game on it at the native resolution...
This is amazing! May I ask why you went with the silver color for the frame?
How are those RGB fans performing for you?!
This is just an absolutely great build! Great work, really enjoyed it.
That seems like a pretty solid setup.
I have been thinking about waiting to really try a build with the RX 480 configured in.
Have you personally used a ASRock mobo? I have only ever used gigabyte/asus/msi.
Do you think it is a good idea to spring for the 100 series possibly a h170 or just stick with a 90 series board and setup?
Normally it would not be so hard to get a build setup but with him needing everything not just a pc, really limits the budget for the parts.
I used pc hound to make this pc.
PC Hound - Build a PC in Seconds
Think if i just update the parts to a 6th intel i5 and 100 series mother board with some ddr4, that it will be future proof for him for quite awhile.
My friend reached out to me and asked to build him a pc.
This is great because I love to do it.
However his only requirements are that he would be able to run skyrim with any/all mods.
He needs everything computer/monitor/keyboard/mouse.
He says his budget is no more than $1,000.
That...
