Dunno about the PS3, but with the 360 you can use the av cable it came with along with the hdmi cable. So the HDMI delivers video and the AV cable delivers the sound. They may not fit together, because the AV cable connector is pretty big, and in that case you can use something like this...

Does your 2711x have uniform backlighting? Thinking of getting a 2511x or 2711x over the 2509b, but I'm wondering if the change to LED backlighting may present some uniformity issues. The 2509b I got (but returned due to a tinting problem) was pretty damn uniform.
