I checked up on what you said about ports being the majority of PC gaming, and you're right - granted, I only used the Gamestop PC Coming Soon list, but I only found 4 or 5 titles this year that were PC exclusive.
Space Siege
Spore
Stalker: Clear Sky
Warhammer Online
I think there might...
Stardock has already proven, without a shadow of a doubt, that PC gamers will buy a good game without shitty DRM, as the game was # 2 - 4 on the NPD sales charts for many months. This isn't your typical RTS or FPS either, this is a 4X game most people wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. The...
These things exist because developers and publishers keep thinking that one day, their DRM will be so foolproof, pirates will have NO CHOICE but to go buy a legit copy.
When the developers and publishers finally realize that the pirates won't buy a legit copy in the first place and to...
I would've liked Steam too, but I don't think Steam would have given us the option of turning Blizzard's games into digital distribution copies as well, and that's something I like because my old CD's have taken a beating.
Plus, we all know Blizzard isn't going anywhere anytime soon ;)
Oh...
Yea, I forgot Valve lets you register your old CD Key's as well.
Still, I like the fact Blizzard's system is fast and doesn't require another program to be running to do this... there are many people who don't like Steam who wouldn't be opposed to this, I reckon, since it's not another...
Should have known that when Blizzard went the digital distribution route, they'd even one up Steam at it.
Right now, you can digitally download Warcraft 3 + exp and Starcraft + exp, with Diablo 2 + exp coming soon.
The best part is you can use your old retail keys from your copies from 10...
Will PC gaming die? No, probably not.
But go look at Gamestop's coming soon list for the PC, and there is maybe 3 games total on that list that are exclusive to the PC... the rest are all console ports.
Looking at my tiny stack of games here, I remember a day when the PC had exclusive...
It's true, it comes from the project lead on the Fallout 3 team so it's definitely true.
I feel like your PC gaming spirit is slowly being crushed after reading all of your posts :(
Haha, I'm not sure they can make it any less complex than Oblivion! Go here, stab this thing, return this item, go through this portal.
Maybe the game will shoot and travel for us now, and all we have to do is read dialogue ;)

I know after UT 3, a lot of people here are against games that were designed for the console being shoved onto the PC, but it looks like Bethesda is taking that lead. They even site Bioshock as an example they want to follow...
Then why don't they just do this to begin with?
It is just one big, unnecessary hoop people who legitmately buy the game have to jump through. Publishers need to stop pretending like this will stop anyone from pirating... in fact, it probably makes people pirate MORE.
I hope all of you that were outraged by Bioshock will be even more outraged at this.

You'll need to remind EA's authentication servers EVERY WEEK you have a legit copy of the game, which...
Same here... I doubt I'll ever upgrade my PC ever again.
Hearing the PC elitists brag on and on how about how they will get the "better looking" GTA 4 whenever it comes out is funny, because by the time I'll be playing the next hot thing, while they are just now getting GTA 4. Sure, your GTA...
Haha, for you people who will complain, or start complaining, you should see the list of achievements for the medic, that border on average, to near impossible difficulty.
We will be hard pressed to ever find one with the ubersaw, let alone the crit charging medigun.
