Small variances are normal in multi-core processors. An answer to your other question, those temps are great. I overclocked my e2200 with stock cooling when idel temps were 35C, so you will be fine.

Have you tired the asus software? You could also use sandra or go into the bios and check it under PC health.

Are you using the optional fan? Also, what kind of case is it in? Since that is a passive heat sink, it relies on good airflow over the board. Just some things to check.
