Need 16x-8x configuration at same time. Are there any consumer boards?

I'll also add that I want this, and am particularly aggravated that AM5 could support 16x/8x but doesn't because AMD needlessly mandated at least 4x from the CPU be hard allocated to NVMe.

    7573X gaming performance

I'm also interested in learning about any experiences with Milan-X or Genoa-X as a workstation or desktop. Unfortunately these are the only benchmarks I've seen so far that compare a Milan-X CPU directly to consumer CPUs, but it's hard to extrapolate the results to other workloads. Since...

    Split risers?

You want something like this guy https://www.ebay.com/itm/375013351940 Make sure your motherboard/CPU supports bifurcation of the x16 slot to x8x8.

    AMD FirePro W9100 First Look

Neat. Now, I just need someone to grab one of these and dump the BIOS so that I can flash my 290X into one.

Software emulating Nvidia or ATI graphics card

I haven't tried the recent version of Mudbox, but previously they only recommended a "pro" GPU rather than actually requiring it. If they're actually trying to force it now, that's utterly obnoxious. I though Autodesk had already hit the bottom; guess they can still go lower. SolidWorks has...

Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro - The future of computing?

Holy crap, the chat with 'Albert' there did nothing but make this twice as confusing as it already was. Is he saying there are two different docks? The keyboard we're expecting, and some lesser option (maybe the little stand the old S7 slate had)? Two keyboard variants? A tertiary dock for the...

    Whos buying a a W8 Tablet?

I'm pretty sure Newegg just never received any stock to go out of, same as Amazon, and switched it to "out of stock" because they have no idea when/if they'll actually receive any. I preordered it very soon after Newegg listed it, and the representatives I chatted with had no idea when they'd go...

    Whos buying a a W8 Tablet?

I think you're the only person I've seen to post anywhere saying they saw a final production 700T in real life. Can you say anything about the build quality? Is it metal or fake-metal plastic?

    How do you run SofTH?

That's silly; you might as well say it's an 85% performance loss to only have 1 GPU in a motherboard with 7 slots. The secondary GPU used by softth was never intended to do any rendering and there is no rendering workload that is being lost/shifted to the primary card. There is a performance...

ATi 3870X2 versus nVidia 6800 ultra

Get a Radeon 2600 or 3650 and then use the FireGL mod. Either will use very little power and be quite fast. The G80 8800GTS consumes a lot of energy and probably won't be much better than the 3870X2, which is unlikely to ever have been running under high load. If you want the best...

    Burst Capacitors, safe to use?

Maybe EVGA used some especially crappy capacitors for the 7600GT? I sent mine back to them for replacement last week with three burst capacitors, the first time I had that happen with a video card. Anyway, don't use it and don't bother fixing it yourself. EVGA will give you a new one for free.

    Memory: 12GB vs. 24GB

At least one Asus board has been rated for 24gb, while others listed only 12. I don't see why Asus would only test certain models, so I think something else must be going on.

SC recommends that are NOT Creative

I have an m-audio audiophile 2496, which has very good sound quality and meets all of your requirements, except that driver support with operating systems newer than XP32 really is terrible.

    *POST* your i7 setup specks

hay guys my computer is alive today. 920 MSI X58 Platina 2x2gb G.Skill 1333 (oddly, it was the cheapest $/gb on egg) nv 7300LE (pretty awesome huh) there is no case, cases are lame 250gb Samsung HD / 320gb Seagate 7200.11 Win Server 2008 x64 (I plugged in the HD straight out of my e8400...

1366, the 'SIMPLE' performer... does it exist?

OP is not saying that everyone should stop making boards with all these features. He only wishes at least one manufacturer would release one board model that isn't covered in extra features that he'll never be using. Most manufacturers already make boards for different tiers, but the problem is...
