I wasn't aware the 92mm's would fit, did you have to 'mod' anything or just pop them in? Can you post or link the exact model you have?

So, your using the fans that came with the HD enclosures? Are they quiet enough for you? Early on i know you wanted to make 4.0 as silent as possible and you got fans that (i thought) were replacements for the HD enclosures. Is this what your using - ISTAR BPU-350SATA (if not can you post...

Now that you have been using the new enclosures (4.0 vs galaxy 3.0) for a while, do you like them better? If so why? It looks like you got quieter fans for them also, how are they holding up? Were they easy to swap out? Do you have anything you would change if you were to build 4.0 again...

Not to beat a dead horse, but, It sounds like you only dealt with one person over at perfPC's. Did you ever get a manager invovled? maybe that guy was just an ass and should be fired. Not to defend them, but if you have had a good relationship with them in the past, seems like it may be worth...

You seemed to "spare no expense" on the Galaxy 3, so i am also surprised you said anything is too much. I guess i can see why not since you wont' do raid (which i still can't get over :p ). For someone who uses the features as i do, i don't think it's un-logical. The card i purchased 7...

few questions/comments. 1. You really think 500x2 PSU's are going to be enough for 30+ drives? 2. are you going to make it soon? i.e. 750 gb drives? I've heard that 1TB's will be out by the end of the year. 3. exactly what drive cases are you looking at then? I agree with you the super...

I know i'm getting off topic but....What kind of framerate do you get in games? I get about 15-30 FPS in HL-2 with everything turned on in 2560x1600 with the one card. It's a little slow for me so i gotta run in 1920x1200 @ ~50fps to play. But, i may get another card if it can do ~50 @ 2560...

Holy cow, that was late! I've already got the drives and they actually didnt' make much of a difference, the top drives only run about .5c hotter then when i had 10x320's. So, mine are set to scream at 55c also, but isnt' it bad for them to even get close to that? espcecially prologed...

I've admired your machines for a while now, and you inspired me a year ago to make my own (better) FS. Here is my setup: Comp specs: Main Case: Areca PCIe ARC-1260 raid controller 3ware 9500s-12 raid controller (controlls 250x12 drives in another case) WD3200KS 320GB x 10 (soon to be 16)...

Ockie: Did you end up leaving the supermicro 3x5's in the default fan configuration? I ask because i orded some and they pull air in, which makes sense for cooling, but i'm worried about dust. I live in the desert (lots of dust) so i'm thinking of reversing them since i can't fit the CM...

    Is Dell Worth it?

I know you can upgrade the memory, hard drive, and obviously any peripheral cards (video, network, etc… ). I'm pretty sure you can upgrade the procs also. With that all said, how much better to you think you will be able to upgrade it to in a ‘few years'? There will be a cap...
