I don't think anyone buying this monitor intends to permanently use the 480hz mode. Its something you flip to for a specific game (shooter/sidescroller/emulation) and go back to native as soon as you you're done.
I'm hoping LG rolls out an update for the 32 that improves its HDR because that does not appear to suffer from this issue when it's brightness mode is set to the equivalent HDR1000.
Yeah based on the text description it seems to be there more for panel longevity. People at CES this year also mentioned that the Samsung models looked the dimmest of all 32 QD-OLED on display.
None of these OLED monitors will survive beyond 3 years of heavy desktop use.
You can see how the OLED's are faring here:

S95C has shown no burn in after 10 months/6000...
Yeah I owned the MSI QD-OLED. Great motion clarity but looked like garbage to me in most HDR content. The first time I launched an HDR game I went in the OSD to see if maybe brightness was at like 20% and then realized that's all it was really...
I also think the LG is by far the best design. It has no chin and looks super clean. If you're someone who is anti monitor arm the stand is also really unintrusive.
Majority of monitors KVM functionality are trash. I think people should keep expectations in check when buying a display designed for media/gaming consumption that happens to have KVM.
Sorry if that comes off harsh but I'm just getting tired...
I always use Alan Wake II as my VRR flicker test. That opening section really demonstrates it well even with crazy hardware.
Yeah I don't really think this monitor is worth anywhere near $1300. It will eventually settle at around $1000 with...
I think Asus will for sure push the panel harder. They've done so with every WOLED model vs it's LG variant. It will also come much better calibrated out the box.
The 2 deterrents are Asus firmware issues and the fact that it will probably land...
People have been having issues applying it all morning while it works for others no problem. Try different zip codes.
Edit: I think the code is now dead.
Yeah the 20% applies when 2 additional items are added. HDMI cable + $20 wireless mouse.
Like all these promo stacking deals, act fast because it will stop working soon since there is no way it was suppose to work on this monitor.
I wish there was an affordable Spectro to use alongside all of the relatively cheap colorimeters. Seems like the only option is spending $1500 from what I've seen.
Heads up to those in the USA. You can add 2 extra cheapo items to your cart like cables/etc to get an additional 20% off on top of the 15% promo code that was posted in this thread (HECAxxxxx - use your zip code). Also Topcashback is giving 12%...
