You're right when you say there isn't a "standard" for stability. That's exactly why these discussions take place. A lot of people have been saying BFBC2 is harder on these cpu's than some torture tests. BFBC2 runs fine for me at 4.7GHz. I ran prime for 11 hours with no errors. Yet last night...

2500k @ 4.7GHz with 1.36 volts. Using my trusty Ultra-120 after 8+ hours of prime it gets a little toasty at 75-78C. Playing BFBC2 or SC2 for a couple hours it doesn't go higher than 65C. This is coming from a 4300 core 2 duo at 2.7Ghz and a x1950 pro so needless to say I am thoroughly...

Ah, see, I'm using this PSU from an existing computer so I'd rather not upgrade if I don't have to. Thanks for the recommendation though, I'll keep it in mind if this PSU isn't up to the task.

I'm mainly interested in whether or not this power supply will handle 6950(6970 bios) and an overclocked SB processor. If it's not then I'll worry about upgrading it, but if it will work I'd rather put the money I'd use to upgrade this PSU into something more performance oriented.

The only thing I will be reusing is the hard drive and (hopefully) the PSU, otherwise it will be a new build.
