The (LAN)Party Is Over, For DFI

anyone from the dfistreet forums saw this coming. my friends and I consider the 939 lanparty the best socket 939 motherboard ever made. i really loved (and miss) dfistreet. Happy Games/Angry Games, Rgone, and Oskar (even if he was using hand picked components) offered some amazing support and...

Tech Support Call of the Day

ugh, i too had a terrible experience with HP printer support. the rep i talked to was so apathetic of my request that it was disrespectful. he kept giving me advice that i had already followed even when i told him what i have tired. i never did get the printer working and return it. WORST...

    Sound over a Network?

I guess I should add that this isn't from personal experiance. Thats just what I would be worried about if I was doing the same thing for myself. I'm sure a generic Y spitter would work in a pinch, I just don't think its optimal. Network seems the way to go for quality. I wish you luck with...

    Sound over a Network?

if you have two computers (READ two sound cards) and one set of speakers i would just link one sound card's out to the others in. But you have the AIW I see... which uses a Line-In. Also, you'd have to have the computer plugged into the speakers on all the time. (something tells me that your...

    Time for an upgrade. Suggestions?

Because this was such a difficult decision, I let my wallet decide and I bought the Shuttle. The ABIT NF7-S wasn't quite the "no-brainer" I had hoped for. I really love ABIT's support for us enthusiasts but the NF7-S just doesn't sit right with me. A lot of people love their NF7-S to death...

    Time for an upgrade. Suggestions?

Oops, I goofed on the Shuttle model number: AN35N Ultra. I fixed my previous post. Seems the volt mods for the Shuttle don't help it much. (I stand corrected, the volt mods really make this baby sing. RAM seems to be the common limiting factor) I'm leaning towards the ABIT but I need to...

    Do you lube your mouse?

here is the problem: when you have two surfaces with lots of movement (in this case mouse and mousepad) things are going to wear down. I've been through 3 ratpadz simply from use. The old ones lasted longer then the new GS ones :( lube sounds like a great way to reduce the fricton and...

    Time for an upgrade. Suggestions?

I'm over due for a motherboard upgrade: I'm finally sick of my gigabyte GA-7DXR. Despite its age, its a great board. I have it running at 150MHz FSB stable, and it won't let me go faster. I have the multiplier maxed at 12.5 so my Athlon XP 1.4GHz is at 1.8GHz. I have a feeling that she can...

voltages on my ps are off

Any system monitoring program or bios voltage readings will most likely be off. Looks normal to me. You would need a volt meter to take some actual measurements, then you would know how much they are off. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the monitoring chip may not be calibrated right but...

    PCP&C Turbo Cool 510? VS. Antec TRUE550 EPS12V

PCP&C all the way. Call 'em up and tell 'em how to make your PSU, its great. :D I don't trust MBM or BIOS voltage readings either. ...just hold a PCP&C unit. They just radiate quality. ( damn, i hope i don't sound like a fanboy... :p ) I got one a year ago. put it into my...
