I need HDMI for HTPC use but will not do much gaming, mainly wireless web use. I am about to pull the trigger but thought I would get your opinion before I go with it.
I am looking for a laptop to play movies and connect to my TV. I currently have a CRT with a single RCA input (yellow) but will be getting a LCD/Plasma soon.
I have read that HDMI is the best connection for the flat panel TVs but is it a must have?
Also for connecting to my current TV, S...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester 2.2GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - OEM
Why does the 4200+ have a slower processor speed even though it is a higher model number? It does have more L1 cache and 2...
I am wanting to spend about $60 or around there and need to know what I can go with and still be combatable with my mobo-ram. My rig is listed in my sig but here are some CPUZ info sheets.
I was thinking about this one.

A friend of mine brought over cable that came with his videocard. It is 7 pin to 4 pin adapter and I have a svideo to RCA adapter so that should take care of the video. I also got a 1/8 phono male to RCA female adapter that should work for the audio. Will be trying everything out tonight :)...
That looks great but my video card has the 7 pin S video connection. So a cable like this should do the trick right?

It has a Radeon 9700 which has a connection that looks similar to Svideo but appears to be slightly different. It is a 7 pin connector... So I can buy a cable like this

Is that correct?
That still won't give me any sound...so to get by I can just hook up...
I have many videos on an extra PC I have and am tired of watching them at my computer desk. So I would like to setup this computer to export to my SD CRT TV. I would also like the audio to go to my TV as well.
I am not concerned at the moment with having the DigitalTV signal go into the...
I am looking to buy a laptop for some wireless internet usage. I have a tower PC for anything else I need to do. I haven't been keeping up with the latest news in mobile computing and need some advice. Here are a few links to a couple of laptops I have seen, what do you think of the...

I recently researched cameras and bought the Canon Optura 50 for $450. It has a 1/3 inch chip which is larger than any others in that price range which are mostly 1/6 inch.
I max it out at 2048x1280 until my wife works on it and it gets downed to 1600x1000. I have created seperate profiles in Windows which we each log onto but I wish their was a way to have the resolution change with the profile.
I already have a pretty nice pair of Plantronics headphones that I will be using most of the time. I just want some speakers for when I am showing someone else something. I think the Kplisch are a little out of my price range.
Are their any good light up keyboards out there? I know some people think it is gimmicky but with the lights off I can't read the keys and having a little lumination would help.
How about the Logitech G11?
What do you all think of the Logitech Z-4? The reviews say that the subwoofer isn't very loud, but I don't need to let the whole house hear it.
They are 64 at newegg.
