I am looking to buy a laptop for some wireless internet usage. I have a tower PC for anything else I need to do. I haven't been keeping up with the latest news in mobile computing and need some advice. Here are a few links to a couple of laptops I have seen, what do you think of the processor... etc.

Acer Aspire 5610-2966 Notebook

Toshiba Satellite A135-S2356

I would go with the Acer just because its got the dual core CPU instead of a celeron M.

Would 1 gig of ram be enough for vista? I would add a 512 stick to the laptop I buy.

You'd be better off with 2gb, but 1gb will work fine, I ordered mine with 1gb and home premium, it did fine as far as i could tell, I have XP back on it now. If your just gonna surf the web and do some office type stuff on it, then you'll be fine with 1gb and vista.

I was looking at ordering it but it says the item is only available for pickup... and not at my store location.
Any other options guys?

1 gig is plenty for web surfing. I'm running Vista premium, opera with a half dozen tabs, mirc, and einstien@home on mine and only using a half gig. FF is more of a memory hog than O, but unless you have stupidly many pages loaded 1 gig will still be fine.

My firefox right now is using over 200 mb of ram right now, but i'm at work and have about 13 tabs open in one window and a another window open with 2 or 3. So I think 1gig will be fine also.
