Your multiplier needs to be at 18, not 14. Check in your bios if you have any options to change it. In my Asus motherboard there is an enable/disable option to change the multiplier speed from 17 to 14. So if you have an Asus mobo, I think yours might be enabled and you need to disable it.

Thats not too bad. I used to get 45 idle and 70-75 load (Celcius) with the stock cooler. I put on ati silencer 4 with arcitc silver 5 and now I get around 30 idle and 47 load. So I am hoping to get a good overclock.

ok. I havent overclocked mine as yet but based on what people have said it seems that they cant overclock the x800 xt pe much more than the stock even with better cooling.

Does the x800 xt pe bios prohibit an x800 xt pe card from overclocking too much? Or is it that the card is close to its maximum hardware capability? If it is the bios that is prohibiting it, is there an unlocked version of the bios that allows it to overclock higher than with the factory bios...

All right guys. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll go for the Prescott (3.4E) since the 3.4 Northwoods dont overclock as well at these speeds. And the Prescott can only get better at higher speeds with the added cache hopefully.

have you defragmented your hard drive? and how much space have you reserved for paging files?

It might be that you do not have enough ram. You should have at least 512 mb. I would recommend 1gb for stutter free gameplay.

If I understood right, the yellow thing you are talking about is the CD audio input from your cd drive. Only the vivo cards have it. And all x800 xt's are VIVO's. I have an x800 xt pe and an audigy 2 zs sound card so I just connect the cd audio to the sound card since I think it would be better...

I dont think there is any software that can do that. The only thing I think you could do is overclock it with ATI tool or some other program. Hope you get you hi-end cards soon.

thanks. but my motherboard is agp 2.0 (which is AGP 4X). Some cards support both agp 4x and 8x. But the sapphire x800 xt supposedly only supports 8x on sapphire's website. That means maybe the card can't go up to the 1.5v of agp 4x. It can only go to 0.8v of agp 8x. Am I right?
