No consoles for me. I hate these "walled garden" approach to gaming to where you have to spend hundreds of dollars if you want to play exclusive games like Halo. PC, to me, has the best value for multiple reasons: Cheap games, ultimate backward compatibility (don't have to get rid of a...
I've got a case open with Amazon right now, but if they can't get the voucher for me, then I'll just let it slide. I did order my GPU on a hunch that I would get a voucher and look at what it got me. Lesson learned.
Amazon did ask if I wanted to return the GPU and get something else, but...
While it is BS, I'm not going to go through the trouble of returning stuff. I'm too lazy for that. Would rather keep my support ticket open with Amazon and Sapphire.
I honestly can see both sides of the deal, I really can. When I spent some time last weekend searching sites like Newegg, Amazon, SuperBizz, etc, for a Sapphire 270X Dual-X model, there was only one model available across the board. I thought that if I bought the card from Amazon, they would...
While I understand this, Sapphire put out a press release saying that the Dual-X 270X cards would get a voucher if you purchase after the 13th. But now they are making a special edition bundle and etailers are just NOW starting to put them up on their sites. My point is that it's the principle...
After submitting a ticket directly to Sapphire, they tell me to contact AMD and Amazon for the code/voucher. I've already spoken with Amazon and I know for a fact that Sapphire should have given me the voucher, so they have it. BTW, here is their press release about the promo...
Just got my Sapphire R9 270X and I didn't get a voucher. I'm trying to register my device and email Sapphire about it now. I did order after the 13th and even the company's website announced that they were bundling BF4 with 270X and up in the Dual-X models (which I ordered from one of their...
Yes, I realize that but every time the 7950 goes on sale, I can't get to it fast enough to purchase; it sells out really fast. Oh well, I'm looking at budget and this card is available. No sweat off my brow.
I guess at this point I should just buy the card and not worry about any freebies. I'm going to give it until Tuesday and make a choice. I'm still waiting for Newegg to get another shipment of 7950s for $185 anyway. If that doesn't work out, I'll go with a 270X.
Agreed. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a R9 270X right now but I don't want to buy it unless I get a free game with it. Unless some other cards start coming with BF4, I may have to grab the XFX card.
Looks like XFX cards are the only ones doing this. This is the only R9 270 that has BF4 included:

Unlike everyone else here, this is good news for me. I was going to buy a 7950 when I finally found a decent model on sale but I think I'm going to get a 270x w/BF4. Win-win for me!
BTW, I asked Newegg if they would throw in a voucher if I bought a GPU today. They had no idea about this...
I'm excited for this. As a father of a 3 year old, my boy will be getting into gaming in the next couple of years. Don't want him playing CoD or Hotline Miami lol.
Wife, 2.5 year old child and full time job here. Since my gaming PC (no consoles) is our HTPC as well, I have to wait until both wife and kid go to sleep in order to do any gaming. I'll take the HTPC on some weekends to the office and game there, but that doesn't happen extremely often...
If GTA5 doesn't release on the PC (which would be a shock to me), I would be extremely disappointed. I don't really feel like buying a X360 for the third time just to play one game then turn around and sell it. If worse comes to worse, I'll just have to borrow a friend's PS3 and just buy the...
I'm waiting for the PC release as well. Since I don't own a console and my 8 year old gaming PC won't handle GTA5 at a decent framerate, I'm building a new PC in the next few months so I'll be prepared for some 1080P goodness.
Having patience is a virtue. I can wait. :)
I tried doing the OTA stuff and got horrible reception. Although that has been a couple of years, I'm married now and the wife won't give up Hallmark and TLC. I don't watch anything live as I just stream or download everything I care to watch.
So what would you guys recommend for budget builds? I'll be upgrading from my Q6600 (building an entirely new rig) in the next couple of months but don't have a ton of cash to spend.
