I use winamp to play my music and I've always used the EQ built into winamp, but I was wondering whether or not the EQ on the X-Fi is any better. I know its probably personal preference, but would one be better than the other? And I seem to read a lot about people not even using the EQ's at all...

like strid3r said, music is in stereo so in order to get it to play through all of the speakers you should just turn on CMS-3D, use stereo surround and turn it to 50%. that way all the speakers play music (that is if you want to hear music from all speakers) For games leave CMS-3D off.

Well if your up for it and have some supplies you can make some. Im in a new neighborhood and so I went out and grabbed a PVC pipe and some wood. after you get that its just a matter of drilling 2 holes. heres some pics. Nothing great, but better than nothing.

make sure the surround volume on your z-5500s is turned up. sometimes they arent. also try keeping it on 6 ch direct until you can hear through all speakers. also make sure in the control panel you have it set to 5.1

when you use mics go into your sound options (recording) and mute it, then make sure the mic boost is on. No more screetching and should work like a charm. Also make sure your "line in" is turned all the way up. also make sure your plugging it into the right spot. (red one)

Ive got the gateway fpd2185w which uses the same panel and UT 2004 has very minimal ghosting. Also when i ran this monitor at 60hz i noticed it had input lag, but when i forced it to 75 through nvidia i notice no input lag whatsoever.

well i may not need to disable it, but i use the middle mouse for jumping in my games. so if im trying to jump and accidently tilt the wheel i just want to make sure i still jump.

also can you change the fast switch dpi buttons to do something else?

I actually read this somewhere also. And i do believe it is possible. Im pretty sure my friend did it a while back with an AMD. But i cant say for sure. I'll post back after I ask him.

If you cant see any flaws then i wouldnt look for them. Thats just my opinion though. "dont fix it if its not broken" kind of thing. I dont know of any tests though so gonna have to wait for someone else to post. Good luck =)

Ive got an X-fi and love it. In BF2 sounds should be much better with an X-fi. Ive never had an audigy so i cant comment on how much of an increase in quality you are looking at but i would imagine a pretty good jump

Do you mean the sound is coming out of the wrong speakers? If so make sure youve got the speaker wire connected to the sub in the appropriate connections. If your playing music then it is stereo and will only play out of the front 2 speakers. I dont think the audigy has cms-3d? or does it? If so...
