Haahahah this was exactly what i was thinking! Lack of at least one 120mm rear exhaust fan is enough reason for me to pass on this case. Dirk-tooth....hahhhahhhaha
The Ninja is actually not a discontinued product. Give those people at Scythe a call, they will let you know that they are actually releasing a revised version with updated mounting hardware. The representative didn't give me an exact date all they said was by the end of September, but he did...
id throw the Ninja with a silent fan on the new sytem. In most tests, the Ninja slightly outperforms the 9500. But either way, you cant go wrong with either.
holli4pirating has a point, to decrease noise, have the fans pull the air through the rad and into the case. Personallyl, i would have the fans positioned as you originally intended. but have the fans suck the air out rather than in.
it'll work, but your loop wont be the most efficient setup out there. you are adding more restriction to your loop which can hurt performance. 2 single 120 rads do not equal the performance of 1 dual 120mm radiator. However, if you are working on a "stealth" mod, than 2 120mms may be the best...
removing the molex connector will not alter the fan from performing normally. If you just cut the wires, make sure you seal up the ends so the bare ends never touch.
Papst do make some great fans, but thet are really expensive. Any chance of choosing a case with some 120mm fans instead?
If it helps, the only 80mm fans i ever deal with are the Panaflo L1a's. Pretty good cfm/db ratio for an 80mm fan (i think its 24cfm - 20 db).
No doubt, the CNPS9500 is awesome, but for the price id have to go with the Ninja. Both are great coolers, but for around 30 bucks i cant find a reason not to go with the Ninja.
hmm, its gonna get quite pricey once you add a cpu and gpu block. I think it may be better to try to buy parts individually. Might actually be cheaper although you may have to do a bit more modding.
gotta go with the 7/16". I've noticed that at varying temps, tygon always appears to be the same texture, but with Masterkleer, it can harden in colder temps. Still im not sure the price difference will warrant buying Tygon over Masterkleer. R3603 is the Tygon of choice, R1000 is way too soft...
i second that, 120mm fans are cheap nowadays anyways. I thought only the Ninja Plus was available now and that includes a 120mm fan. If you didnt get the plus version, slap a Yate Loon on there and you're all set.
Are you thinking of using the Nexus fans at 7v for the radiator? If you are, i highly advise against it as Nexus fans are way too weak to be pushing or pulling through the fins of any radiator even at12v! Pick up some Yate Loons.
The Apex kit probably the only kit i would ever buy as the...
i dont really see how this could be happening, the only thing i can say is maybe one of the wires is slightly broken losing connection. Cathodes are pretty cheap, and in my experience, sometimes wiggling the wires helps. I've sleeved mine without any problems, my friend has even cut the wires...
From the title, i thought this was a rave, not a rant. Sorry man, that sucks. From what you say, it sounds like they were trying to help and adivised you to send the pump to them for testing. Therefore, you would think that if you received a replacement or the original, they would meet you...
Freezer 64 pro will work, but you are correct, you will not be able to use the duct. It one of the best coolers for the price. If you want more performance, i would say pick up a Ninja Plus. both are extremely quiet
You should be able to get by with a heatercore (im not sure which one since the link didnt work for me) or a single 120mm rad, but i would go for a dual 120 rad if you could. I've been doing some research and oddly enough, it appears that the Swiftech radiators are pretty decent, better than...
Heres some testing results on Swiftech's website:
http://www.swiftnets.com/Technical/Assessment%20of%20Radiator%20Performance.pdf
It appears that Swiftech's radiators are actually pretty good, and in alot of circumstances, perform better than the BIP series. I only wish he did some...
BIP can handle lower cfm fans, and the Yate Loon D12SL-12's are great for a BIP. As for BIX, you usually need fans with more air pressure (120 x 38mm). These Sanyo Denki fans generally recommended for thicker rads like the BIX. They undervolt well and still maintain high pressure/airflow...
looks like spacing on the sli-D is the same as the Ultra D, therefore I would say a regular maze4 would not fit in sli. Looks like you gotta go for the low-profile ones.
On a side note: does anyone know the actual performance difference between a low-profile and regular Maze4? I dont...
The S-flex fans are really great fans, but you can get by with the low speed Yate Loons. For less than the price of 2 S-flex fans, you can get 4 yate loons for push/pull configs or you can use the extras in your case.
diagonally? Be careful you dont warp the fan! I had this happen to me before by mis-aligning the holes on a cut and trying to diagonally force the screws in. But in your case, i dont see how you could screw them diagonally.
the X1900s should use the same hole config as the nvidia 6800s and 7800s. From the Silverprop site, the clips are 6800 compatible, so there should not be any issue installing this block on the x1900xt
best way to use ati tool would be to manually increase the clocks yourself. I've used various ATI cards and the "find max core" sometimes works, sometimes doens't. i think i almost burned out my x800pro when i left for an hour, came back, and the comp was dead. Luckily it was fine.
Well, if you go for danger den, you might as well forgo the Apogee for the TDX. That way, you can save even more with the tdx d5 combo:

Its an old design, but the best cpu block for the money would be the
AquaExtreme Whitewater Limited Edition - 34 bucks
Maze 4 - 45 bucks (always a great choice for gpu, but i suggest getting ramsinks too)
Discontinued, and not as good as the maze 4 but consider the MCW55 - 35...
if you want your case to shine like the posted pic, your best bet would be to get some cathodes....
Like sordid said, they function more like a spotlight than anthing else, and if you use a cathode and led, the led will be definitely overpowered and have virtually no effect.
For less...
my thoughts exactly. In theory it should still help, but i dont think it will make much of a difference. Keep in mind what type of fans you have in your case and the ambient temp inside the case as well.
i would personally send it back. You shouldnt have to pay for return shipping costs if the product arrived damaged. Newegg should be pretty quick with returns also. If you are going to pay that much for a high performance cooler, you dont want any blemishes affecting your performance.
