Regarding the buzzing monitors.
Let me be super clear here. In a quiet office, you would hear my monitor buzzing from across the (not small) room. You need to be deaf not to hear it buzzing.
I have gone through three of those monitors, and so far 3 out of 3 have been buzzing. One of them...
Is there anyone who has a "quiet" 3007WFP and lives in the San Francisco bay area, and is who willing to show his 3007 to me?
It's difficult to believe that I got three "buzzing" units and all the others posters live happily and quietly with their rigs. Perhaps it's my laptop (MacBook Pro)...
I give a lot of weight to appearance. I have a very well design office, and it was a big compromise for me to bring DELL over Apple. The Samsung and HP are plain ugly in my book. They might have better performance, but the DELL was good enough for me in this department.
And you know what, zzz? I'm so in-love with the real-estate that a 30-incher offer, that I would have reach to my pocket for the Apple (of course, you can find brand new ones for $1750 or so). Only problem is that Apple has their own slew of problems: Apple ACD 30" dancing pixels
Since the...
For all of you guys who experience no "buzzing". Have you tried using the monitor in a quiet room? Reason I'm asking is that I believe most of you are driving the monitor with a powerful desktop PC, whose fans are masking the monitor's noise.
I'm trying to differentiate between "monitor is...
K10, except the buzzing the monitor is terrific. Even backlighting, no dead pixels (on my copy), video looks good and ergonomics are great. I'm not using it for gaming so I cannot comment on this aspect.
I would have loved to keep the monitor, but the noise is just unbearable.
Let me try...
After going through 4 screens, three of which are Rev. A02 and one Rev A01, and reading feedback from other users in DELL forums, I'm starting to believe that the majority - of not all of them - are buzzing. I think that the users who claim that their screens are not buzzing are simply not...
While the high-pitched noise might not be heard by some people, the buzz is very noticable.
In my home office, which is very quiet at night, the monitor emits the sound you hear when you put your head near a neon light. I'm pretty sure that if you have a modern desktop computer (i.e., noisy)...
I got another buzzer yesterday. After getting THREE new monitors in a row, I have to conclude that this is a defective design. By design, I also refer to the manufacturing process.
I have tried connecting the monitor to different outlets; to RFI/EMI filters; in different rooms; to different...
Well, I've received a replacement today (that would be a second replacement). To my dismay, this was a refurb (they have explicitly promised a new one).
OK, I say to myself, maye a refurb would bring some luck. It was a rev A01. Frankly, I don't care what's written on the box, as long as the...
But some people claim they a dead quiet unit - but since this is subjective test, they all can be buzzers. I simply cannot get how a company can get such a noisy design out to the street.
It's reassuring to hear that you have no buzz on your LCD. I know that the backlight of LCDs can hum and buzz, but this is definitely not something that you should hear when you're 2 feet away from the screen.
Specifically on my LCD, the buzz is high-pitched when the brightness is turned all...
Guys, please note that I'm not saying that all 3007WFP are buzzing. I just happened to get two of them which are buzzing. Tomorrow I'm going to get a 3rd one. I'm not overly optimistic, but we'll see.
I know that the 2407's had this issue (maybe they still do?).
I think that if I was...
StalkerZER0, let me rephrase the question:
Do you know for a fact that A03 exists?
zzz,
This is a significant issue for me. I'm one of those guys who are sensitive to buzz and hums, and I'm working on a fairly quiet home office. If I can't get a good unit I'll have to get a refund.
Hi, I recently received a DELL 3007WFP (Rev. A02) and it's buzzing. It emits a high-pitched noise when the backlight is on maximum, and the buzz grows stronger (and with a lower frequency) as I turn the brightness down.
I received a replacement today, and it has the same buzz.
Is this...
