    gaming monitor: 24 or 27?

Thanks guys! I just got this monitor (VE278Q) and have being using it for the past few hours. My impression of this monitor thus far is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! It is as if I'm looking at an IPS monitor but with a fast response of a TN panel, and it's a TN pannel. I had a Viewsonic VX2753HM-LED...

    gaming monitor: 24 or 27?

Would you be kindly enough to share your calibrated settings for the Asus VE278Q? ;) I read the review on Digitalversus and its color accuracy is already quite good out of the box. I'm just curious what's the magic setting for you to get even noticeably better picture

WD Velociraptor 600GB vs WD Black 2TB, windows startup time.

Get yourself the WD2001FASS, it's just under $170 when it's on sale and it's FASSSSST! It's faster than the samsung F4 and F3. It beats its own WD Velociraptor in some cases and other cases are about on-par. *Short-Stroke* is the key. Here is my newly installed WD2001FASS Benches. in Full HD...

Need Advice: New Short-Stroke/Partition Configuration (AHCI) - Benchmark Screenshots

Hi guys: After spending several days reading over hundreds of threads and articles on short-stroking/partition, I went out and bought 2 new HDD: WD2001FASS (Black)/WD20EARS(Green). My 3rd hd in the AHCI configuration is the WD6401AAKS that I've been using for 2+ yrs and counting. I'll use the...

Xtreme Low Q6600 G0 Temp on Air !!! (Lots of Pics)

To Everyone: I just bought the 18th Anniversary Asus P5K-Premium "Black Pearl" and I'll be starting a new thread similar like this. The OC testing methodology will be very much the same as this one. 90% of the OC results are going to be based on Prime 25.3 and the rest 10% will be Max FSB and...

Xtreme Low Q6600 G0 Temp on Air !!! (Lots of Pics)

You'll see me doing another review similar to this one I've in the next few days :) I'll be testing the new P5K-Premium (Black Pearl) and the existing Q6600 G0 + Ballistix Tracers 8500 I've. I'll be including a 4x1GB OC results as well. P5K-Dlx 4x1GB OC results didn't impressive me as much as...

Word. My Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme is well screwed down without any modification to the mounting. However lapping its base is strongly recommended for max heat dispensing capability. Lapped Ultra120 X gets my volt :) Looks alright so far and G0 runs very cool so you actually don't...

Not a problem man, I'll gladly do that after I'm done with the Large FFT Priming to finalize the current max stable OC of the summer season. I'll make a screenshot by then. Be surprised of what temp will be reporting ;)

Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme (Lapped) vs Ambient Room Temperature Ambient temp in the room when screen was captured = ~22.7C As you can see the Idle temp is roughly 13~15C above ambient temp in my room. NOTICE: Given Vcore Idles at 1.4880v, even so the temp is still amazing. So...

Wow that's nice in a way but imagine living conditions during winter time :p x9 - 420mhz seems to be more stable for some people to acheive the same clock. However my P5K-Dlx still manage to have full stability using x8 multi with the Q6600 G0, it's the best mobo for quads IMHO :)

4GHz Quad just for the fun of it. Notice that the voltage doesn't need to go through the roof to acheive this clock ;) Here is the CPU-Z Validation. With the amount of given voltage, it's enough to do some easy tasks beside Priming of course. 3744 MHz with low volts and Prime stable...

My Vcore at Idle is 1.4640v. That's the Vcore I need to acheive clock speed of 3.74GHz. I'm not sure if 1.4850 is the Vcore at Idle or set in BIOS. Becouse every mobo is different so regardless what's the volt you set exceed 1.5v or not. You should always take the idle Vcore into account. I'd...

Xtreme Low Q6600 G0 Temp on Air !!! (Lots of Pics)

Of course you need both Blend and Small FFT to pass stability test for more than at least 8+ hours to consider your OC is stable. Small fft puts out max stress to your CPU but little to the rams. Blend doesn't put out as much stress as small fft but it's considerably stressed enough to get all...

Hi Waterboy: I realized that we've the same VID at 1.2625v but you're OC on a Nvidia based mobo. Maybe that could be on factor that's limiting the G0 quad potential. Vdroop is another factor that could effect your OC stability too. Your temp looks fine though:cool:

    Intel Xeon X3220 Over q6600?

Yes, the thermal spec is at 85c instead of the 71c for Q6600 G0. Anyhow, Overclocking-ability can never be guaranteed. No one can be certain if X3220 will outperforms a Q6600 G0 in terms of overclock-ability and potential. One may have a tough luck getting a lower binned X3220 G0 and one may...

That's what I'll be testing at my current FSB416. It's not possible to acheive max OC clock speed for my rams becouse of limited selections of dividers at current FSB. Unfortunately it's hard to stable quad above FSB460 with x8 multi so x9 multi is the only route for max OC CPU. I wish I can...

I'm finally back. Alright, to answer a few questions, my VID is 1.2625 so this generally means the chip has better overclock-ability @ lower given volts for the same clock as the same chip running at same clock speed.
