Corsair should make an ultra wide 3440x1440 monitor with Free-Sync, G-sync, and/or an ultra high refresh rate! I wouldn't be mad if it dispensed Slurpees too....
This seems like a damn good deal but I'm not seeing the response I expected from this forum or on others. Am I missing something? Is this GHz version with the upgraded cooler not any better than the plain 7970'g going for $310 on the Egg? I'm looking to improve my graphics performance at...
kac77: Those instructions are how to setup a raid array, right? I wasn't really planning on using raid. I was going to use one drive as a manual storage depository and the other for backups. I've never used raid, which is probably what prevents me from trying it (along with the fact that I'd...
I'm looking for some guidance on a home server OS. I tried WHS2011 and after many tries to get it up and running, it would never let my main pc connect and setup the client software. Granted this was probably six months ago, but unless things have changed drastically in the WHS world (or someone...
Thanks for all the help guys, I've tried everything besides re-installing Windows on the client and it still doesn't want to work. I don't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling Windows again as I just did it a few months back. I still have WHS installed on a hard drive, but I swapped...
Wiped the server OS or client OS? I tried wiping the server OS and reinstalling several times already...some with an unattended install off a USB and other times off the install DVD. I don't want to go as far as wiping the client OS again....I had enough troubles a few weeks back when I did a...
As far as I know, if you don't connect the client computer to the server with the Connector software you can't setup backups for that computer. If I'm wrong, let me know! My main purpose for the server is for automatic backups, file storage, media serving, and possibly a gaming host.
No go. I've tried absolutely everything and it still won't install. I even tried an older wired only router to rule out the router (D-Link DIR-655). I can access the servers shared folders and even gain remote access from my client machine, but Connector will not install! It still gets to the...
I turned off the firewall on my client machine and it didn't help...but I didn't think about turning it off on the server as well. I run the built in Windows firewall and virus/malware protection.
So far, no luck...some of the suggestions in the links I've already found and tried with no fix. I'm now going back through them to see if I missed anything. This is so damn frustrating!!! I've been building computers for years, but this is my first server build and setup. I assumed that...
I'm really hoping someone can help me with this damn WHS software...I've been trying everything I can possibly find online and still I cannot install the Connector software on my main computer. I can access the server's shared folders just fine, but when I go to install the Connector software it...
Thanks for the responses and suggestions so far! I'm still on the fence, but I'm leaning towards just doing a fresh install of Win7 on the SSD and transferring the settings and whatnot. It also still leaves me the option of upgrading the original Vista install if the SSD doesn't want to play...
I'm upgrading from Vista HP 64 bit to Windows 7 Pro, and I just pulled the trigger on a 160gb Intel 320 series SSD from a black friday deal. What is the best way to go about installing the SSD as the OS drive? I'm concerned about migrating everything I've installed over the last few years from...
I'm looking to build a home server so I can offload some programs from my main pc to improve performance (PlayOn media server, Sqeezebox server, etc) and introduce a backup and storage system. I've done some Googling and searched the [H] forums a bit, but with the way software/hardware develop...
