I've got a friend having a problem with his 9800GTX. I can't really describe it, so I'll just post the pics:

Please excuse the titles... they're his, not mine.

I'm looking at two monitors:

What would be the major differences, other than price and ACM vs. normal contrast? Also, what is ACM contrast?
So, I just bought 4 GB of RAM DDR2 1066 for a AM2+ 780G MoBo. Will it be running at DDR2 800 until I get a Phenom (I'm running a 5400+ X2 Brisbane)?
This was originally my HTPC, but now it does light gaming (TF2 and CSS mostly, with some gMod).
Will a 5400+ X2 on an AM2+ MoBo (780G) with 3 GB of DDR2 667 bottleneck a HD 4850 on Windows XP?
I'm looking to upgrade an older spec'd PC of mine for LAN parties and such (mostly CSS, BF2, and TF2). It was originally a straight HTPC, but who says it can't become a partial gamer? I'll go for...
Search seems to be down right now, and I can't find where to enable AHCI drivers in Windows XP (lots of solutions for Vista, but none for XP) over the Google.
I've noticed that some 780G motherboards are listed as having 64 or 128 MB of on board dedicated video RAM. Others, however, have nothing at all listed as dedicated with their integrated 3200 GPU. Do I have to check the sites of each board's maker to find out if there is actually RAM on all of...
How many people (like me) have a new 4850 or 4870 in the mail? I'm dying of suspence as UPS inches my 4870 all the way from NewEgg in CA to my home in CT (curse you, three day guaranteed shipping!).
I just need to know the LxWxH (length by width by height) of the 4850, assuming the 4870 is on the same base card, so that I can construct a model to see if they'll fit in my damn case. I have a fairly unique space situation, and it never hurts to make sure I don't make a purchase I can't use...
So, I'm looking into building a lightweight gaming PC that will be used mostly for home media hosting. I can't decide wheter to go the 8000 Series mobos or 780G. I most likely will go with an AMD CPU, because their low end processors are cheaper and that's all I'm really looking for (unless I...
So... to say the least, my case has some really weird quirks. A friend recently suggested that I simply "flip over" my hard drives to gain about an extra inch and a half of space. I've never tried to install a hard drive any way but facing up, so is it possible (or a good idea) to simply flip...
I'm trying to gauge what availability will be like at release, for both cards. I haven't picked what I'm going to try and get yet, but I'm leaning towards a HD 4870 if it fits in my budget ($400 USD max).
What I hope doesn't happen is a repeat of the 8800 GT's launch, where it took almost a...
Right now, I have about $300 USD to spend on a new card AND new PSU. I currently have a 8400GS teamed up with a Q6600 and G33 MoBo.
I plan on getting the Corsair 550VX, unless someone has something better, which means I only really have about $200 for the video card.
I'm thinking of...
Who here plays World in Conflict? I just picked the game up this weekend so I need a decent clan and to build up my friends list.
Great game, I'm half way through the single player. Multiplayer is also awsome.
(Sorry if there are already topics on this, search is down.)
Between the PSUs I've found in the sub-$100 range, which would you pick?

So, I've got a fairly decent computer. The only departments it's really lacking in are the PSU and GPU (a 300 watt stock and a 8400GS). I've played the Supreme Commander demo and the World in Conflict demo, and I love both games.
Here's where everything gets more complex, I also own an Xbox...
Based on its history, I don't think nVidia will stand by and watch as ATi gets all the attention with their (although less in greatness than expected) HD 3870 X2.
I actually hope that ATi puts out either their next series soon (aka summer) or releases a HD 3890 to promote some better...
Depending on the source, date, and ATi/nVidia bias of the internet's collective knowledge(lessness), I can't find a reliable answer to a fairly simple question: Will the 9XXX series to be launched this spring have DirectX 10.1 support?
So, I'm the unfortunate owner of a HP m9040n. It comes with a 8400GS as the default graphics card (need I say more?), and I've been looking into upgrading since the HD 3870 and 8800 GT came out. I will be upgrading to a Corsair 550VX PSU, and I have not yet decided if I could fit in a dual slot...
