Gadgets need power, hard to pass up 60 AA batteries for $10  Saw these at Home Depot and grabbed x2, they're surprisingly compact packages, passed by them at first. 4"x3" plastic cube double-stacked & taped together (so it's not even possible to get a single 30 pack).

Staples has the Logitech illuminated keyboard for $29.99, looks like it's all weekend/until supplies are out.
If you have a keyboard (i assume the general computer-user population does) this isn't a big deal ... i personally almost bought this one for the 'curiosity factor' 2 months ago for...
Dickie's has some nice clearance prices on clothes - most items are down to $10, lots of sizes available too. Pants, cargo shorts, shirts, & some shiny ANSI stuff too

Our furnace stopped working (or - it works if we strap in a new motor & don't mind toxic fumes leaking throughout the system) so it's cooler today :) I love it :D what can I say C2D temps have dipped 5 C & GPU temp is high 30s.. my jacket it operating solidly & body temps are acceptable...
320GB drives are old news w/o a doubt, but putting that space on one platter is new. Current WD 1TB drives are 4 platters (250GB/Pltr), I think it'd be reasonable for one to anticipate 1.25 TB drives becoming commonplace in the near future ... :cool...
The Crysis demo was a lot of fun, but so short, & just not enough for $50 to evac my wallet.
Far Cry 2 is reported to be coming in the next 4-8 weeks too, pumped me up a little to revisit the original.
Going back & finishing up Far Cry! I've had it for a couple years & only played it on/off...
What CPU do you run to rip/encode your DVDs (assumes encoding to single layer DVD) ?
With a C2D running at 2.8G, this computer rips in 8-15 minutes.. but encoding can take anywhere from 15-25 minutes! Burning is typically <8min w/a IDE Pioneer (SATA Samsung is nearly identical time)...
Anyone hear of the 9600 GT coming out Feb 14? Claims x2 the speed of the old 8600 GT but still a little behind the 8800s... it'll be great seeing the 8600 finally drop off the bottom of (most) performance benchmarks - I always laugh when it lists behind the 3yr old 79xx cards.
Oh &...
What''ve been the symptoms or causes that have forced you to RMA a hard drive? Not overly concerned about the Mfgr, since it seems to affect all of them - many of us have data backed up on extra HDs, externally, or in Raid, probably from personal experience of drive failure..
I bet those...
