My board arrived this past friday. Locking SATA ports, newer (but not newest) BIOS included.
Posted on first go, everything is stable and rolling.
Getting a wierd 23 error code, but cannot for the life of me see a problem anywhere.
The first bloodrage I ordered was damaged. The S/PDIF connector was snapped off.
The second I received would not post with my eVGA 280. It would post with any other number of cards. The bios is choppy at best. There is no support. The board had some peculiar choices in positioning of...
Thank you so much for that response. I am hoping to hit a stable simple 3.2 ghz so I will probably not buy the second fan just yet, if I am not happy w/ the temps I will add at least one more.
Silly question I asked, but I just wanted to make sure the logic I was using was correct. You...
So I have one Scythe fan and I just realized I also have a very stupid question...
Do I put the one fan blowing into the cooler or blowing away from it?
I feel about idiotic for asking but some of this is uncharted territory for me.
Also, would the second fan be advisable? What kind of...
The DFI just dropped recently. So far have heard good things. I ordered the Foxconn Blood Rage myself. At this point I believe that all of the boards are going to perform within the same basic parameters.
Stability and support are going to be what divides them over time.
The eVGA FTW...
That would be awesome to get the flash working.
To respond to the first reply, does that mean when you download you get an ISO? I am using my macbook right now and just want to make sure if I DL it I can actually burn/copy to something else.
I just wanted to dot my i's and cross my t's.
Thank you for this post. I was wavering myself but this post made it clear.
I bought the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme so I assume that will be plenty to get my 920 over 3.0 ghz?
Thanks again for that post, good stuff.
I need to find a place to get Vista 64 Ultimate and I need it pretty darn quick. I am doing a clean install and I do have a retail version of XP so I can use an upgrade.
The question is, how do I use a digital download to put Vista on my new machine? I am building an i7 system w/ a foxconn...
I doubt this board will do something magical that half a dozen+ other x58's don't already.
Everyone here (for the most part) is just knocking the looks. I like them. I have a Cooler Master HAF 932 case, black and red, board is same. Is that why I bought it? No but it was not a negative ;)...
From what I understand that is a software issue. The program used makes a huge difference.
Might want to do some google research, I tried to find some links but unsuccessful so far.
I am in the same exact boat here. I just bought my dell 3007wfp hc and it is arriving on Friday (I hope).
I called NewEgg and asked them about their return policy on the evga 280 and the rep stated you have 30 days to swap it if you want.
I figure I am going to go ahead and buy it, then...
Or move it to the deals section=p As I said, can't post there yet and just wanting to make sure the other people here at [H] get the deals.
Thought maybe someone here might be on the fence and that ejunkie thing actually worked...seemed to good to be true.

I had to pay 3.99 for the coupon, but it worked. 15% off an already pretty darn good price.
Hope this helps anyone else.
Would post it under the deals section, but I do not have a high enough post count!
I am ordering my Dell 3007 from the Outlet Store tonight.
I was debating about a 24'' or whatever, but according to what I see here, the 30 inch is the way to go if you have the cash.
JUST TO MAKE SURE, does anyone thing I will disappointed as a gamer w/ this? I want to play CoD, WoW, and...
Great, so if I am using the Intel Matrix solution all I have to do is take the 640GBx2 and partition 15% of them in a RAID 0 first?
That would be roughly 190 GB for a boot/OS partition. I would assume I should put things I want accessed quickly there too....
If that sounds like I have it...
So this board has enlightened me to the Matrix RAID solution, and my two WD AALS drives are on the way for my new system. The problem is that I am now in unfamiliar territory.
I have been using RAID arrays for years, but it looks like there is more to getting optimal performance than simply...
This might sound rediculous....but isn't this argument 100% about economy and logistics?
If you have the room to put a 30 inch and can afford it, why not?
If you don't have the cash then get what you can afford.
Whether it be 1920x1200 or 2560x1600 or whatever has the same ratio...
Dell 2408WFP
I want to do a lot of gaming. Big WoW fan here, also like to play some shooters and such.
Will be using my 360 elite on it as well from time to time.
Is this a good panel?
Can I do better for the price?
Anyone who has experience with this please do comment.
Happy...
That is amazing. I was waffling on the Raptors myself. I was just not sure what boost I would get out of them, especially cost wise. I am probably getting the 640's in RAID 0 and re-evaluating in 6 months to a year, with an eye at SSD's for boot drives.
Would it be possible to have a sticky thread for some of the upcoming x58 motherboards. I have seen several threads about the x58 evga ftw, Foxconn bloodrage etc.
I would just like to have a place where I can go and see what other [H] enthusiasts have dug up on a specific product.
The...
I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop on this board for ages. I read from a Foxconn rep that this was supposed to be out at least a week or two ago, still no board.
The P6T6 Revolution is tempting, but so far it does not seem that impressive. I just want to get my new system...
They are adding it because there will be some benefits now, and possibly a great deal more later.
Currently there is not much software that truly takes advantage of a tweaked out system. Synthetic testing might show what the performance gap "could" be, but not what it will be in real world...
I am waiting for the next revisions to come out, but I am impatient...
I want to build my system while I have a bunch of time off around Christmas.
Anyone have any idea when boards like the evga x58 ftw are going to come out?
I am wondering what would motivate someone to buy one over the other 920, 940 or 965.
For the record, I am going to be using air cooling and want to build a pure gaming system.
Everyone knows the cost difference, but what is that performance difference?
Will the extreme be that big of a...
Hey folks,
This will be my first OC experience and I am wondering about a few modifications.
I will be using the i7 920
eVGA x58 (FTW if arrives soon)
6 GB of ram 1600
eVGA 280 card 1x atm, will upgrade to SLI in March
2x WD RE3 750 HD's
Lite-On Blue-ray burner
Corsair HX1000 PS...
Hello NFX,
I will just get down to it with my opinions. Hope some are helpful.
1) Your case selection (antec 1200) is very good. That is an extremely sweet case but it is pretty massive and make sure it is sitting on something solid.
2) Core i7 920 - No brainer here if budget is ANY...
I think I understand what you are getting at, because I am thinking somewhat likewise.
I am probably waiting a while to see the next batch of x58 motherboards. I am very excited about a supposed eVGA x58 FTW edition due out this month (not sure if that is fact or rumor).
The video card...
