The best 23", 24" and 25-27" monitor currently out for $399 or less

Vizio VL260M is a nice 26" IPS TV, two HDMI inputs, 1x component and 1x VGA. Works great as a monitor, very nice picture. http://www.vizio.com/flat-panel-hdtvs/vl260m.html Available from Amazon or you might find a better deal here. Amazon had it on sale for 315 a month ago when I got it.

has anyone used Vizio VL260M as a monitor?

I was looking for a larger replacement for my 19" 1280x1024 monitor, but I wanted to keep similar DPI. 26" 1080p fit the bill, but it is very hard to find one that in not TN and that fits the budget. I hate TN because, even if you sit in right in front of it, top and bottom of the screen will...

    LCD TV as a monitor

This forum is a great resource for research into displays, so I was wondering if I can get some opinions on using a 1080p LCD TV as a primary monitor. The prices have gone down so much lately, a 32-inch 1080p TV can be had for $500-600 or less (e.g. costco.com). I do not see a similar trend...

Official Vizio VMM26 thread. The ultimate LCD monitor?

I noticed Costco selling a Vizio 32-inch 1080p TV. I think it was $579 and it was most certainly not a TN screen. It made me curious, but I did not bite because, well, I am not sure it could fit on my desk.

    Samsung T240HD Review + Pics

TN-panel TV makes no sense. All I can picture is you lean back to watch TV, and all the colors on top of the screen get inverted. I also thought text is extremely poor quality on this panel very fuzzy.

    HP LP2475w (Possible new IPS)

Seems this monitor is finally available in USA from HP.com, at $650: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF05a/382087-382087-64283-72270-444767-3648442.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

    DoubleSight DS-265W Official discussion!

I would not be surprised if we do not see these until October-November. At this point, Planar looks like a much better deal. I got a Planar 19-inch in 2001 and it still looks great. I remember paying $656 for it back then. Great viewing angles, sharp text, satisfactory gaming perfomance...

    DoubleSight DS-265W Official discussion!

The monitor will not have HDMI. No word if DVI port is HDCP compliant. Seems component inputs will be the best bet for hooking up a game console.

Hmmm... looks like component inputs on the top-left picture. I don't remember those being mentioned anywhere.

    DS-265w release date?

I actually like the fact that the new panel will come with crappy speakers, since it saves cable clutter, and I use headphones when I care about sound fidelity. However, "end of July" has long gone. Anyone know when this monitor is actually getting released, and the ballpark price?

    Dell 2709W

http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2008/review-dell-2709w.html Looks good for what you need it for. The only thing that is stopping me is the input lag -- a bit better than 2408wfp but still bad.

    Help me buy - T240, T260 or 2408wfp?

I bought a T240HD last week and returned it the very next day -- it has some really bad viewing angles. Basically, no matter where you look from (even straight on), the screen is completely non-uniform, especially top-to-bottom. Compared to my 6-year old Planar CT1904ADU, it was a huge step down...
