Hello everyone,
I have a norco 4220. I currently have a standard 850w power supply installed.
Can anyone point me to redundant power supplies (650+), that come in the "standard" W x H power supply form factor?
Thanks.
Has anyone seen this error, after running for a month or so?

Then ALL virtual disks drop off of the raid controller. I've had this happen twice.

I recently purchased a supermicro H8QG6-F motherboard, with an integrated lsi sas-2 2008 controller. But the sas/sata ports on the mb are configured as 8 individual connectors, rather than 2 mini sas connectors.
I'd like to be able to connect 4 sas/sata ports on the mb, to a mini sas...

Is anyone using the LSI CacheCade software / firmware / hardware-key upgrade yet?
I'd like to know: Do the CacheCade features work as advertised or not? Do the CacheCade features appear to be hardware/firmware based, or OS/driver based? Do the benefits of CacheCade pass through to VMs?

Does anyone have a (cheap) source for pci card/slot mounting brackets?
I just obtained several Dell SAS 6/i cards. (lsi 1068e, pci-e x8) I've got them working in non-dell systems, and now I want to find mounting brackets for them.
I thought the brackets would be easy to find, but I'm...
Several SuperMicro motherboards have integrated sas-2 wide ports, based on the new lsi sas2008 chip. The X8DTH-6F motherboard is one of them. Others are listed as supporting 8x sas-2 here.
If anyone owns one of these boards, I'm hoping you can answer a question for me.
I'd like to know: How...
Something like a dell md3000 has dual raid controllers with path failover, and mirrored cache.
-----
Some hba can be used with software/OS mpio for card to card path failover. Some dual port raid cards support port failover, but only on the same card.
Are there any mainstream raid cards...
I've never owned anything from supermicro.
I know that some of their pci cards are proprietary and are "reversed". I've been told on this forum, that their power supplies are proprietary.
What about everything else? Are they SuperProprietary?

I have a chenbro 16 drive chassis. Looking at the norco 4220 chassis on newegg, the cases look nearly identical.
The hard drive trays on the chenbro are a tight fit, and the drives are packed together very tight. There appears to be no room for airflow. If these were 1u or 2u servers, i...

Has anyone here used solaris express and comstar to export raw disks, skipping the whole zfs file system?
Has anyone tried the comstar mptt driver, to export disks over lsi 1068 hba's? Did it work?
How about exporting via comstar over infiniband? Did it work? Does it work with older...
Are the .bin and .vsv files static, or constanly being updated while a vm client is running?
When I "save state", I would like to save state to a mlc ssd. But if the vsv and bin files are constanly being written to, I would probabaly burn up the ssd pretty quickly.
When a hyper-v client is...
