Very strange problem with my work pc - any ideas?

I have also tried different AGP gfx card (was slightly limited as the AGP connector is keyed for AGP 8x cards only), but I also tried an old Trident 3D PCI gfx card. I also tried clearing the CMOS, trying the SATA controller in different PCI slots, hell pretty much everything I could possibly...

Very strange problem with my work pc - any ideas?

The only thing I can think, is that the SCSI drive (it was connected to a 29160N, running XP Pro), wasn't too happy about being swapped over to a new system, but saying that, the controller has built-in SCSI BIOS and it does boot, but crashes at the same GUI loading that the SATA drive does...

    Half-Life CD Path

ah, it appears my CD drive wasn't reading the CD correctly, I did a reboot and it now recognises the CD... unfortunately however, the only way I could get to select a custom game was to manually navigate to c:\sierra\half-life and load the HL.exe executable, which allowed me to activate the...

9.0 MB max transfer on 10/100 LAN

Does a router offer any security/protection?

another thing to point out which many forget is that NETBios is a non-routable protocol.... meaning your private network will not be viewable (or broadcasted) over the internet.... however this does not prevent anyone from talking to your NETBios sessions (Ports 137 to 139) if you are going...
