Yeah I tried checking out the 7600GT in Vista and got the same error. I hadn't played with any of the settings in BIOS, but I'll look at all that stuff when I get home from work.
Should I try sending back the motherboard, the video card, or both though? Assuming I don't get it working this...
Well after playing around with Vista I managed to get it to recognize the 8600GT, but I still get an error in the device manager.

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems.
I tried pulling the PCI card back out and just using the new one, but I still only...
So the computer in my signature recently died and after replacing several parts with no luck, I decided just to build a new one. I've been out of the loop for a while and got some recommendations on this board for new parts.
I bought an Intel E6550, the Gigabyte motherboard, a MSI 8600GT, 2GB...
Between the e6550, 6750, and 6850 is there any advantage to the more expensive models other than the obvious speed increases? I'm considering simply getting the 6550.
And where would you recommend purchasing these processors? They don't seem to be widely available. I've never heard of any of...
Processor - $100-200
Motherboard - $75-125
RAM (2gb) - $100-125
Video Card - $100-225
Power Supply - $75-100
HD - ? (I haven't really decided how large)
Those prices aren't set in stone, but I hope they help.

To make a long story short, the computer in my sig died and I need to replace the majority of the parts.
In terms of performance, I had no problems with the computer other than the fact that it needed some more RAM. Ideally, I'd like a system with similar performance (though taking into account...
I took it out of the case yesterday and tried that. I didn't have any luck though. I'm gonna try using a different PSU and see if I have any luck

I think MSI dropped it after nVidia decided to disable SLI for non-SLI boards in newer drivers. It would be too hard to provide support. I can't remember where I read that though. Maybe the Anandtech article on unlocking the Ultra for newer drivers?

$116 shipped at newegg and they've been that way for a while
not a bad deal though
it might just be a delivered by date... it's not necessarily an estimate of when it will arrive
I think it just means that you WILL have it by that date
I had something similar with Amazon.com once... the delivery date was crazy, but my mp3 player showed up in a reasonable amount of time
check out the Epox boards... they are actually quite good (even for ocing)
