upgrade to the core i7, and I am talking to everyone of ya who don't currently have this MONSTER of a CPU in your machine now.
PS it even does the dishes
It's called VirtualBox, it supports x64 hosts. Give it a shot, it's the route I had to take because some of the System Center suite requires x64 hosts.
I went Core i7, and the reason I did was for performance. If you looks across all the benchmarks the Core i7 is where it's at currently. I have not been dissapointed with the results either.
It took me 20 minutes to install Vista from install to the desktop.
I have 4 virtual machines...
Just updated the BIOS to the latest from ASUS
Tried DRAM voltages 1.5-1.6 and it didn't work. Even tried manually entering the timings and still a no go.
Bad RAM?
I just bought a new core i7 920 CPU, ASUS P6T Deluxe Mobo, and 6 Gigs of G Skill 1600 RAM.
The problem I am having is that the motherboard defaults the RAM to 1066 instead of 1600. When I try to change it to 1600 in the BIOS the PC wont POST. Therefore I have to restart the machine and go...
I am currently testing the stability of 3.325ghz with 1.4v given to the CPU
I also posted 3.25ghz earlier with 4+ hours of GO dual core stress testing. It seems to be very stable.
Keep in mind all of this is on air with a Zalman7000 AlCu heatsink and fan
I am going to keep climbing...
So far it hasn't been stable above 490 FSB and a 7 multiplier.
RAM timings are set manually to 5,5,5 for the first three settings and the rest are auto
I will run some more tests today and then post ss's for verification

1.35v to CPU
+.3 vdimm

Timings are set according to your RAM
FSB = 475
Multi = 7
Umm everything else is default on that page of the BIOS
Anything else?
